Sadly, I cannot recommend this hostel. The problem I had to deal with was harassment and disgusting, petty behavior from two guests. People that are unstable, are constantly complaining about others or have complete disrespect for others should not be allowed to stay in a place for visitors and I am disappointed the hostel is not ensuring the safety and comfort of all guests. The best thing to do in an uncomfortable situation is just do your own thing or ignore the person, BUT if they are harassing you and exhibit extreme or unstable behavior, they should never be allowed to stay. The owner/manager was nice to me, the staff was nice, but this is a business, and they don't seem to really care about what happens, as long as they make money, so that is that. If you don't care so much about who is who and are open to whatever comes your way, you will probably be okay here. Getting your own room is the best option, much safer. ||I would suggest the management set up a normal set of rules that can be found in many hostels for the safety and comfort of all guests, including a NO tolerance policy...
Read moreHad a really bad experience! The Hostel itself if fine, centrally located, big rooms with air-conditioning.|But I had a staff member staying in the same 4 bed female room, and she was not suitable at all sharing room with others, terrorizing the rest of us. At my 3th day she was walking behind me an just yelling. I made a complaint about her to the reception. No change! My last night this person got up 1:30 in the night, started watching videos loudly waking us all up. When the lady above me addressed her about that, she went completely crazy and was yelling for half an hour. In the morning we 3 other woman went down to the reception to make our complaint together. There were plenty of other issues with her though out the hole week. I left home, one other person left the place even though she had paid for more night. To my understanding the hostel owner did nothing. I personally didn't get any "help" in this horrible situation: no new room, no apology, no arrangements for this staff...
Read moreI stayed at Hostel Musala for 5 nights during a longer stay in Bulgaria. My stay got off to a rough start. I had booked the exclusive apartment with kitchenette on the 5th floor, but when i arrived i was told the 5th floor was closed due to construction above. I was given a room on the 4th floor with no kitchette, but everything else. I was given a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. The room i did get was very nice. The balcony, which i was looking forward to, was covered in pigeon poo and filthy. The other facilities, common showers, laundry and kitchette were good. The only reason i gave 3 stars instead of lower, was the fact that my stay in general was great other than the room and balcony issue. I wanted to enjoy my stay, so i didnt make it an issue. But just be aware, if you have a booking on the 5th floor, you may be better to find somewhere else. Btw, Victoria is fantastic at the front desk. |The area around the hostel is great. Close to train, beach,...
