We booked 2 rooms for 1 night. Upon arrival (Saturday, around 8pm) we checked in & was allocated 2 rooms on floors 1 & 3. The room on floor 1 was fine. Unfortunately the room on floor 3 left a lot to be desired. ||||There were a number of large holes/depressions in the floor underneath the carpet, so upon entering the room & stepping in to turn the lights on I almost tripped over as the drop is more than 1cm - this is approx 1m long and right where one walks! It's quite dangerous and needs to be resolved urgently.||||The air conditioning did not work properly and and was stuck on a warm temperature. The control panel was on but not responding. We asked reception for assistance and was advised that there was nothing they can do and to 'ask in the morning as they were night staff only'. Really unhelpful and made for an uncomfortable night, they were not interested in assisting in any form.||||Walls are very thin & the chandeliers also rattle when someone walks/moves/engages in bed based activity in the rooms above. ||||Breakfast tasted nice, but very slow. I felt sorry for the waitress as she was running the whole restaurant herself, management need to put more staff on. It took 10 minutes to be given a menu (which was taken from the table next to us when they finished using it & passed straight to us, don't visit this hotel if you have any covid concerns!) and we waited 30 mins for a coffee to arrive. ||||The overall hotel feels quite tired & in need of a makeover. I appreciate the 'old world' aesthetic they are trying to achieve, but the service recieved was less than acceptable, especially considering they badge as a 5 star.||||The response given when we checked out was pretty lacklustre and I wouldn't recommend staying here.||||Location is a plus, and parking right outside...
Read moreThe hotel looks luxurious, the rooms are big and seem clean and the location is nice. But that's about everything good I can say about it. It's expensive and doesn't live up to the expectations. The hotel staff members are disoriented. The breakfast is included but beware - if you order a drink you would be taxed separately and you will NOT be warned about it in advance - they will require you to pay when you free the room. When this happens, good luck remembering how many beverages you've had the previous days - they might try to charge you more if you are not careful. I've never been to a hotel that makes you pay for orange juice when breakfast is included in the price before. Also, you pick your breakfast from a menu and then the waitress comes back and tells you the item of your choice is not available. The orders come out with a big delay - spare at least and hour for breakfast. When your order arrives, don't be surprised if it's not the right one but something the waitress thought you wanted. In addition, the shower was broken and the hot water was limited. On top of that, you have to pay for parking. In conclusion, if you're looking for a stay in Varna, better spend your money somewhere else - this one is...
