I recently stayed for two nights with this resort along with my partner, my parents and my sister and her partner. between us we had three rooms. The hotel rooms smell musty, we had blood on one of our walls one of the rooms it was on the curtains and on the main staitxase. the beds are hard, the air conditioner is undersized and thr rooms remain very hot. the pool however is quite nice however whilst sittinf around the pool we were able to see into the restaurant to see a stray dog eating scraps off the floor , needless to say we did not eat here.
the worst thing that happened during our stay was the two rooms that were broken into whilst we slept, the doors that were left ajar and a stolen iphone were the result of this. upon reporting this to the hotel we were told this was our fault and told they would report it to the police. we left to report it to the police ourselves whl refused to investigate without talking to the hotel. upon our return the manager had informed us that he had spoken to the police and that they had visited the hotel, this was all lies. during the day the hotel staff will enter your room, not to clean or replace sheets or towels but they repeatedly turned off the air conditioner once we left for the day and whatever else they happened to do without invitation or mesning.
overall: very corrupt, although cheap when you factor in the theft id spend the extra $2 and stay...
Read moreI Will Stay Here Again on my next visit! For me, most important in a hotel stay is hospitality...Damnak Riverside gets a 10* rating in hospitality. I stayed 2 weeks and consistently the owners and staff were: friendly, helpful, kind, and generous. The rooms are big and... Very reasonably priced! The rooms, pool and hotel grounds are all kept Clean! The pool is large and Always maintained with cool, Clean water...AAHHHH! Lots of comfey lounge chairs and quite a few tables to enjoy a drink or home cooked meal (food is home cooked and tasty!) Location is also perfect.... immediately outside are restaurants and places to get a drink. A 3 minute walk is a large river on both sides of the river are Excellent local food/drink carts...which I preferred over the western trendy restaurants...for price and taste. Adjoining the food carts and riverside is the old market filled with every handicraft and tourist item you can imagine and lots of western sit down restaurants. 5 minutes by tuk tuk are the main bus station and a large Local local market. 10 minutes by tuk tuk is Angkor Wat and the beginning of the temple trail. Damnak is family owned and operated so it is very child/family friendly and safe. Their dog barks sometimes, and she is shy sometimes but is very...
Read moreIf you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience, this is the perfect hotel for you. I was literally interrupted mid-shower because the owner decided that my car had to be moved. I was not politely asked but ordered to do it to make room for a group of so-called “important” guests. Apparently, my comfort meant nothing, and I was given no choice except to move my car immediately and check out on the spot. The owner behaved as if nothing wrong had happened.
The irony is that these “VIP” guests clearly had nowhere else to stay, or they would never have chosen this run-down hotel in the first place. The owner seemed so desperate to please them that they had no problem disrespecting paying guests who were already staying there.
This experience was unprofessional, humiliating, and outright insulting. Any hotel that interrupts its guests to accommodate others who would never have stayed there otherwise does not deserve anyone’s business. I strongly recommend choosing any other place that treats guests with basic courtesy...
