A Truly Magical Stay – Heartfelt Hospitality from Start to Finish Staying at Golden Temple Residence was one of the most heartwarming and unforgettable experiences we’ve had anywhere in the world. From the moment we booked, the entire experience was filled with care, warmth, and attention to detail.
Mr. Phikun, the Relationship Manager, was in touch with us from the moment we made the reservation. His thoughtful communication, personal care, and sincere dedication ensured that every single aspect of our stay was perfect. He truly represents the heart and soul of this remarkable hotel.
We were celebrating my mother's birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond. Our room was beautifully decorated by Ms. Sophoan, and the chef surprised us with a stunning fruit cake, beautifully crafted from fresh fruits and presented during breakfast—a gesture that deeply touched our hearts.
After a long journey, we were warmly welcomed by the ever-smiling Anna, along with a delicious welcome drink and snacks, which felt like the perfect start to our stay—so comforting and appreciated. Throughout our stay, Mr. Jack (F&B Manager) ensured that every meal was freshly prepared and tailored to our vegetarian preferences. Ratanak and Rin were incredibly sweet and attentive, and Rosa made the most delicious coffee every morning.
As strict vegetarians, we were overjoyed to see how thoughtfully the hotel catered to our needs. The breakfast was exceptional, with a generous spread that included freshly made sandwiches, spring rolls, crispy fries, assorted fresh juices, bakery items, tropical fruits, and more—everything made with care, and always served fresh and with love.
Our room was spotless and cozy, thanks to the amazing housekeeping team. The hotel pickup was smooth and efficient. What truly stood out was the hotel’s signature warmth—every time we returned during the day, we were welcomed with cold towels to refresh ourselves. It’s this kind of thoughtful touch that makes Golden Temple Residence truly special.
The experience at the Lotus Spa was pure bliss. We enjoyed the Devada ritual, which included a soothing foot bath, herbal wrap, scrub, and massage. After the treatment, we were offered refreshing coconut water—a perfect way to end a divine, healing session. We felt fully refreshed and renewed.
Golden Temple Residence isn’t just a hotel—it’s a place filled with heart. Every member of the team goes out of their way to make you feel cherished, respected, and truly cared for.
We are so thankful for the unforgettable memories created here. We will definitely return and recommend this exceptional gem to everyone visiting Siem Reap.
Thank you, Golden Temple Residence, for making this...
Read moreThe staff
A review of Golden Temple Residence has to start with the friendly staff. Everyone in Cambodia is very welcoming, but the staff at the hotel must be some of the kindest people we have ever met. In particular, Monika, who greeted us on arrival and helped with booking tours and transfers was very sweet. Sarun in the restaurant was lovely to talk to. Chay and Muin who ran our tours were knowledgeable and friendly. We were often left completely charmed by their greetings.
The location
The hotel is well located about 2 mins walk from pub street, the night markets and the river. Close enough to walk but far enough away to feel private. The surrounding streets are very safe.
The room
The room is large, clean and well equipped. The en suite is particularly large, and there is everything you would need. The turn down service is charming - they bring a short story to read every evening, which we enjoyed immensely.
The food
The food is very good. The breakfast is okay, but the restaurant food is better. We had one lunch in the hotel and it was just as good as some of the best meals we had in outside restaurants. They also bring little canapes during happy hour by the pool. The drinks are a little expensive compared to bars elsewhere.
The spa
We had two massages. One was $20 off and another 25% off. Exactly how and why we qualified for these discounts was unclear. You can probably get cheaper massages elsewhere, but we were very happy with the hotel ones.
The tours and transport
We paid for the hotel transfer and for a private van for our two tours of the temples. We visited in March when temps reach 37C in the day, so opted for an air conditioned van over a tuk tuk for the tours. The roads around the national park are very smooth and have clearly been improved in the past few years, so a tuk tuk would be perfectly comfortable in cooler months. The tours of the temples follow set routes (Short circle or grand tour), so it would be possible to go with any tuk tuk and hire a guide on the gate if you wished. The hotel also has their own tuk tuk drivers who can be identified by their t-shirts. We used them for a trip to Haven ($3 one way) and Apopo ($4 one way). All...
Read moreWe visited The Golden Temple Residences in June 2023 and I must admit that it has been one of the best stays in a long time.
Location: The hotel is located in the centre of the city with a proximity to the pub street, old market, night market and many amenities which includes spa, restaurants etc.
Comfort: The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with a mix of Cambodian and modern facilities.
Restaurant and Spas: The inhouse restaurant had delicious food. The breakfast spread was huge and very tasty. We also lunched in house one day and the food was very fresh, flavourful and truly local. The hotel offered us one complimentary massage, and nothing can soothe your nerves after long day of walking to explore the Angkor Wat temples
And last but not the least,The Incredible warm staff: Right from the minute we entered, till we checked out we were greeted by wonderful, warm and smiling staffs. Special mention about Sky and Joey at the front desk. They were professional and very helpful to accommodate all the request. They knew the customers by name and made us feel at home. They helped us with the itinerary and also managed the airport drop and pick along with other transport requirements.
Chan was our driver who took us around. He was a great tour guide too and knew the Angkor Wat very well. We had excellent and informative discussions with him regarding the culture, mythology, politics etc. His English is good and hence easy for us to communicate too. He also gave us a local food tour where we tasted some street food from the comfort of the car.
Bros was the Tuk Tuk driver and his warmth made up for everything. He recommended some great places to eat.
Chong was our guide to the Angkor Temple and we were glad we had him. He took us for the sunrise visit to Angkor Wat and stayed with us patiently from 4:30 am to 1:30 pm. We saw more than 6 temples and understood the history, architecture and some amazing facts of the temple. He also was our photographer for the tour.
We strongly recommend Sky Joey, Chan, Bros and Chong to any one who wants to visit this place and there is no better place to feel like home than the...
