The Grand Yard is a well maintained and spotlessly clean hotel.|The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and always greet you with a smile. Rong Panah helped us with any queries and was very organised.|The rooms were spacious and cleaned to a high standard with a patio door onto a small terrace overlooking the pool. |The food in the restaurant was good - I highly recommend the Khmer red curry. |The pool was clean and towels provided but we didn't use this facility.|The only reason for a four rating was that we could not use the terrace due to the standing water in the plant containers which encouraged mosquitos. Also, the tv was not set up unless you used your phone to WiFi which we could not get to work, although help was offered |This hotel is in a quiet area of Siem Reap, away from Pub Street and the night markets so if you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the hotel for you. There are plenty of tuk tuk around to get to places and we never paid over $1. |We also booked a two day trip through the hotel to Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples which are a must see. The hotel provided us with a guide, Mr Chea Pov who was very knowledgable about the history of the area and a driver, Mr Jakey Chan who provided us with a very comfortable ride, even providing us with ice cold flannels, umbrellas and cold water throughout the day. I would highly recommend both if you want to visit Angkor Wat. (I have their contact details)|This is a great hotel if you want a...
Read moreAfter reading all the reviews I feel almost awkward to rate the hotel with "only" 3 stars. However this is our experience and reviews serve as feedback to keep service high.
Plus: The design and interior are modern and playfull Rooms are modern spacious and clean, matrasses are very comfortable. Staff is extremely friendly and willing to help. Pool is very clean. Lots of nice restaurants and coffeeshops in the neighbourhood Yoga next door
To improve: About 50% of the time no hot shower Rooms on roadside experience traffic noise (single glass) Breakfast is simple for 8 $ and 2x we were served bread from the previous day. Fontdesk staff should communicate better together while handover when they change shifts and have arranged things for clients. If 3 staffmembers give different information it is confusing and caused stress in planning with massage and departure. Do not change prices of drinks during happy hour. If you raise the price of a cocktail and double the price of a mocktail during happy our and then shout that you buy 1 get 1 free?🤔 Please never ask clients not to give feedback when you expect they do not rate a 10/10. We received an app with a request not to give a rating if we would rate below 9/10.. We were...
Read moreI just need to share how wonderful this hotel was. A special shout out to the front desk staff that was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond any other hotel we stayed at to make our visit super!!! Thank you SO much. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the woman's name but she reached out to my daughter who had made the booking to see if we need transportation to the hotel and to see how else she could assist us to make our vacation super. We only had about 24 hours but she was able to arrange for us to be picked up at the airport, see a sunset over ruins, get a driver for the day to take us to the ruins and back to the airport for our flight and a guide to show us Angkor Wat and 3 other famous temples. The hotel even made arrangements so we could shower after our temple visit before we had to head to the airport. Five star service. Thank you so much for making our stay great. We had pizza at Amici restaurant which is just a 4 minute walk from the hotel. Absolutely delicious!! Owned by a french chef who makes up a daily menu. Wish we had eaten all of our dinner here, We went elsewhere after pizza for our main course and that was disappointing. Stay here if you can and eat...
