On arrival, the staff greet you and takes you to your seat. The setting is very nice with lots of fans so you will stay nice and cool.
The waiter I had was very kind and friendly
The vegetable spring rolls for the starter Very nice indeed great way to start the dinner! Fresh vegetables and extremely tasty for something very simple. The dipping sauces were packed with flavours and fresh spring onion! I recommend dipping the roles and waiting one or two seconds before taking a bite and I'm sure you won't be disappointed! I know I wasn't!
Very happy with the first course!
Main course Khmer curry chicken
First impressions Very well presented I tasted each part of the dish individually Everything was amazing! The curry was packed with flavour and the consistency was perfect! My only issue is that I didn't come sooner to try the food!
Desert - Im ordering something new which is a first for me. I ordered Banna and coconut milk and coconut milk, Just amazing!!! Highly recommend.
Drinks Iced cappuccino - Good
Gin tonic - Good, for me it could use a hint of lemon juice but that's a personal preference.
I have eaten at a lot of fine dinning restaurants all over the world USA, Italy, the United Kingdom, La coloumbe in South Africa which is in the worlds Top 50 best restaurants and I would say Heaven is up there for me. The food is amazing! The staff are very friendly and kind!
Heavens aim is to help young disadvantaged adults. I honestly believe in my heart that this restaurant alone is one of the best! The values of the restaurant and what it stands for is just inspiring! Help young disadvantaged young adults is fantastic!! Heaven is giving them a great opportunity if they are continuing to put this kind of food out they will never run out of customers and if this was in Europe I'm sure it would win awards based on the food alone.
The areas for improvement The plates on which the food is served are very basic. Maybe something locally made which has a unique look to it would showcase the food of better for photos and the overall presentation for me, thisis a small element that would elevate the whole experience even more.
Location Very clean, almost feels like you are sat in a mini botanical garden lots of bright vibrant flowers.
Staff Quick to serve you / very friendly The waiter's attention to detail when lining my cutlery up was a surprise but its the little things that makes the difference between a normal restaurant and a fine dining experience.
This by not a fine dining experience but I would put it with the restaurants in this category due to its unique experience and the food even though it is a three course dinner is something very special. I highly recommend that you...
Read moreThis is such an amazing restaurant!! I think everyone who visits Siem Reap should come to HAVEN at least once - even if you’re only here a couple of days! Not only is the food incredible, but the service is top-notch across all of Southeast Asia, and the backstory for the restaurant is wonderful!
HAVEN has been around a little over 10 years, and the whole idea (and reason for the name) is to be a “safe haven” for disadvantaged Cambodian teenagers whose futures don’t look too good…HAVEN takes them in, trains them, and gives them life skills that they can use long after they’re finished with their training so they’re set on a brighter and more successful path in life!
What did I notice about the staff? They were incredibly friendly, the nicest and most attentive I have come across in my travels across Southeast Asia, and they truly looked like they were so happy to help you - unlike so many other restaurants where they make it seem like it’s a chore for them to help you, bring you water, or anything.
Now we talk about the food! It was BEYOND GOOD! I didn’t think Cambodian food could too some of the top Thai dishes I had tasted…but I can confidently say this food was as good if not better than some of the best Thai food I have ever had! We ordered the Banana Flower Salad, Khmer Curry, Fish Amok Curry (a newer menu item which you won’t find on Google images), Carrot Cake and the Banana in Coconut Milk.
The Banana Flower Salad was a wonderfully-seasoned and spiced lighter dish - a salad made from various vegetables and some chicken. It was such a good appetizer and I could have so much of it if I wanted to! Definitely recommended!
Khmer Curry and Fish Amok Curry were BEYOND good. Thick, coconut cream curries with incredible spices made up some of the best curry dishes we have ever tasted - Indian, Cambodian, Thai or otherwise. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Desserts were incredible as well! I don’t want this review to go on forever, so I’ll leave it at that. If you’ve taken the time to read what I’ve said, please make the effort and visit HAVEN. You won’t be...
Read more🌟 HAVEN – A Cozy Spot for Khmer Cuisine in Siem Reap!🍽️
If you’re in Siem Reap and craving a warm, welcoming place to ease into Khmer cuisine, HAVEN Restaurant is one to check out – but make sure to reserve a table ahead of time! This place is popular and tends to fill up fast. Walk-ins might get lucky, but don’t count on it, especially during dinner hours.
🍛 Let’s talk food! The Khmer Lok Lak totally stole the show. Simple yet packed with flavor – it's one of those dishes that really gives you a taste of Khmer cuisine without being too overwhelming. The meat was tender, and the sauce had just the right balance of savory and tangy.
🥗 The Spicy Beef Salad was a refreshing surprise. The cherry tomatoes and zesty dressing gave it a nice, light kick – perfect as a starter or for those who like a little brightness in their meals.
🍛 The Khmer curry was mild and comforting. It won’t knock your socks off, but it’s definitely worth a try, especially if you’re new to Cambodian food.
🥟 As for the spring rolls, they were alright – crispy and decent, but not something I’d go back for.
🌿 The vibe at HAVEN is nice – it’s got that laid-back energy, ideal for a relaxed dinner.
✨ In short: If you want a Khmer food experience that’s authentic but not too adventurous, HAVEN is the perfect intro spot. Alright service, cozy atmosphere, and a few dishes that’ll make your...
