We've just returned from a 16 day trip to Cambodia and the Philippines where we stayed across 6 different accommodations (hotels/airbnbs). Without a doubt, this was our favorite for many reasons but the biggest among them - the wonderful people.
From the moment we arrived and throughout our entire stay, Anita, in particular, was so absolutely wonderful and welcoming that it truly made us feel at home at the hotel and in Cambodia.
From the moment we were dropped off by the included airport transfer (also a very nice gentleman), Anita and the rest of the staff greeted and welcomed us with drinks, explained the myriad of services available at the property, told us about Siem Reap and offering their services in scheduling any desired tours, dinners, spa services, etc.
We were then shown to our incredible room that was not only clean and well appointed, but had such character with traditional decor and painting with historical themes. Had a lovely conversation with Anita to better understand main sites around and also about the region and history, including relationships with neighboring countries, that really made us feel welcome and excited to explore Siem Reap.
Food: We had lunch on our first day and breakfast every day provided by the hotel - all were delicious. Some photos attached.
Attention to detail: -Our room was always impeccably cleaned. -As other guests have mentioned, on the day we did the sunrise tour of Angkor Wat, the hotel arranged a breakfast box to take with us which was truly so refreshing so we could just get our incredible day at the temples started. -Complimentary outbound (from the hotel) tuk tuk service to the principal part of Siem Reap.
Lastly, on our way out, we had a full day in siem reap before our outbound flight to the Philippines at night. Not only was Anita helpful to ensure we had return airport transfer service scheduled, when the next shift of hotel staff greeted us in the evening, they provided a room and shower for us to clean up before our flight. I have NEVER stayed somewhere that made it this easy for guests to store luggage and ensure we were off to our next destination as happy as we'd been while still checked in.
We've mentioned our stay at the Mane Boutique Hotel as one of the main highlights to many friends - not just because it's a wonderful place with top notch hospitality, but because it's reflective of our experience in Cambodia overall. Wonderful, welcoming and attentive people working to ensure guests and visitors enjoy all Cambodia...
Read moreGoogle asked me to rate this hotel almost 3 years after we stayed there. I wouldn't normally go into details because many things might have changed since then. But this time I'm going to make an exception because there are few things to check before you choose this place.
First of all, this is a really nice, maybe even upscale hotel with good services and pleasant staff. But it is definitely not a 5 star hotel and here's why:
We booked a large room with a balcony and we got a smaller one with no balcony at all. There was a balcony door in the room but there was just a hole in the wall behind it. A hole with no railing at all. They have changed our room immediately after we had complained but the 5 star experience started to go astray.
There was only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers in our new room… we were two. We supposed it was because they had to change our room and we didn't care about it. We were curious about what would happen next day but nothing has changed. Nobody noticed anything.
The breakfast was good but only “á la carte“ and the meals were small. We had to ask for everything separately and had to wait while it was being prepared. The serving was perfect but honestly… Who needs golden cutlery for breakfast?
We booked this hotel using Boo… and as Boo… geniuses we were offered a late checkout for free. They had free rooms and the late checkout was possible, but it was not free. After a long explanation, calling the manager etc. we finally managed to get it free but this is not the attitude would expect from a 5 star hotel.
We have asked the manager how is all this possible in a 5 star hotel. He apologized and told us, that boutique hotels in Cambodia get their stars based on ratings and that they had no “real” stars at all!
Let me explain that we are travelers and we are accustomed to any kind of accommodation. We don't expect any luxury on our journeys and in fact we usually stay in much cheaper hotels or guesthouses. But this was the end of our longer journey through Asia, the price was fair, so we decided to have a few careless days in a luxury at the end. We finally got it to some extent but it was not that we were looking for.
Please remember that this happened almost 3 years ago. We hope they have learned a lot since then and today it may be a completely different experience. But I'm writing this because there are still relatively few ratings of this hotel online so I think it's better to check a few things before you decide to...

My recent stay at this boutique hotel in Siem Reap was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the incredibly warm and friendly reception staff who made us feel right at home. The check-in experience was the best I've ever had; we were treated to complimentary welcome drinks, refreshment towels, and a free 30-minute massage. It was a perfect introduction to the hotel’s exceptional hospitality.
As we stepped into the lush green garden, we were welcomed by the refreshing aroma of nature, setting the tone for our stay. The garden's ambiance was just the beginning of what made this hotel feel so special. Our room was spacious and beautifully designed, featuring a huge bathroom and an amazing bathtub that comfortably fits two people—ideal for a romantic getaway or a relaxing evening after a day of exploring the local temples.
Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast served to our room precisely on time, adding a touch of luxury to our stay. Our personal assistant, Thavy, was an absolute gem. From the moment she introduced herself, she ensured that every aspect of our stay was memorable and tailored to our needs. Her dedication and attention to detail made us feel truly special.
The pool area was another highlight, boasting a modern design and comfortable sunbeds. We particularly loved the daily happy hour, with $5 cocktails—a fantastic deal that we took full advantage of.
One of the most remarkable details about the hotel is that every room is designed to represent a specific year in Cambodia's history. Each room is decorated according to that year, adding a unique and thoughtful touch to the overall experience. This attention to detail further exemplifies the hotel’s commitment to creating a memorable and culturally rich stay for its guests.
The entire staff exhibited an incredible level of hospitality and kindness. Their seamless teamwork and genuine care for guests made our stay unforgettable. As we prepared to leave, we were deeply touched by the staff's heartfelt farewell, with everyone waving us off until we turned the corner. It was a moment that nearly brought us to tears.
Overall, this boutique hotel exceeded all our expectations. The service, amenities, and value for money were beyond exceptional. We left with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will last a lifetime. If you're looking for an experience that goes above and beyond five-star service, this hotel is an...
