Overall, I am VERY happy that I’ve chosen this hotel. The hotel service was worth much more than what we paid. They have a free pick up/ drop off service from the airport (no drop off service provided by the hotel staff after 9pm, the airport closes during night). When I sent an email to the hotel to make a reservation for the pick up service, they gave me a polite and nice reply which made me feel excited meeting hotel staffs. A nice hotel staff was waiting for us at the arrival gate. There was no SIM store in the airport and we asked him to take us to the SIM store in the city. The SIM card we got cost $10 for 6 days with plenty of data. The airport is only 15min away from the hotel but the staff told us that there will be a large new airport soon which is about one hour away from the hotel. Once we arrived, hotel staffs welcomed us by saying “Welcome home”. We arrived at the hotel around 9am and they offered us a complimentary morning coffee. Since then I’m a big fan of Cambodian iced coffee. They allowed us to check in early and even upgraded our room, which was the perfect start of our one week stay at this hotel. Ms. J at the reception is a professional and very supportive throughout our stay. She explained to us about the city, the tours offered by the hotel etc. In the beginning, I was full of anxiety exploring the city alone with my female friend, but the tours and Tuktuk drivers provided by the hotel were reliable. Especially cooking class and the dinner show are highly recommended. Sometimes it is cheaper to book via the hotel than via online travel agencies. We loved the wonderful breakfast at the hotel. Ms. H at the restaurant is very lovely and friendly, we became friends immediately. Whenever we went to have breakfast, she was very supportive. They have a buffet as well as à la carte menu. Thé chef cooks omelette or noodles in front of you on request. There are so many different kinds of food to enjoy, so don’t worry if you are considering a long stay. When you have a sunrise tour which starts in the early morning, they provide you lunch in a fancy box and an orange juice. My friend liked it.The room was very clean. I didn’t complain but our bed sheets haven’t been changed (they only did bed making). I’m sure that they’ll change your sheets if you ask at reception. Sometimes I found a small insect but it was acceptable. They don’t provide water bottles, instead they give you water in glass bottles. They have a lovely outdoor swimming pool. We enjoyed chilling on the swinging bed by the pool. The massage at the hotel was reasonable and good for the price. I got Swedish massage for one hour, the therapist noticed that I’ve got problems with my shoulder. She tried her best to fix this. The location of the hotel is perfect, easy to access the night market as well as pub street (10 min walk) and the museum. There is a Japanese restaurant in front of the hotel (I wanted to visit but didn’t have time) and there are some supermarkets and a shopping mall(?)next to the hotel. I really appreciate everyone working at this hotel who made our stay wonderful. I’ll definitely come back to this hotel when I get another chance to visit Siem Reap again. I highly recommend you to stay in Memoire D’Angkor...
Read moreWe stayed in Memoire d' Angkor Boutique Hotel for 3 Nights while we were in Siem Reap. We had a really great experience at this hotel. It costs 10 USD in a taxi and 9 USD in a tuk-tuk to reach hotel from the Siem Reap airport. We took a taxi from the airport itself, as soon as you exit the airport, there is an airport taxi counter a couple of steps on your left hand side. There was a Welcome drink on check-in which was a nice touch. Room was spacious and clean. It was clean when we arrived and properly cleaned during our visit. Trigger Spray/Jet Spray/Gun in the toilet which is always appreciated, but the bathroom only had a head-shower and did not have a hand-shower which was a bummer. Towels & toiletries were provided without asking for it. Electric kettle and sachets for making tea and coffee were provided in the room. They gave us two bottles of water in the room everyday and were happy to refill if you can go down to the restaurant and ask for it. Breakfast was included in our room and it was a buffet style with sufficient options to choose from. Lucky Mall is next door; as soon as you exit the hotel, turn right and walk a few steps to reach Lucky Mall. There is a super-market inside where you can buy essentials like water, milk, bread, chocolates etc. Other than that it's a pretty ordinary mall. There is a Happy Hour Drinking from 5:30PM to 6:30PM everyday for the hotel guests where both alcoholic and non-alcaholic drinks were provided free of cost. You have to register yourself for it on day one at the hotel reception, and from the second day onwards they take care of it on their own. The hotel provides a Airport Pick-up or drop-off one way free. We opted for drop-off in our case. The room had wifi; and there is a big pool and gym on the site. Staff is the highlight; they were fantastic-always smiling and attentive and tried their best to help you in any way possible and make your stay comfortable. Location is good, you can get tuk tuks outside anytime. It's one big road that runs for substantial length. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Siem Reap and would happily stay here again. The only problem dealing with them was that they never respond to any emails, even after the booking. Couple of Indian Restaurants within walking distance are Curry Walla (3min or 260m walk), Travancore (10min or 800m walk), Dakshin's (10min or 800m walk) and my personal favourite Modiji Indian Restaurant, a vegetarian Indian restaurant at a distance of 1km or 12min walk. We had our dinner here on all the three days when we were in Siem Reap. An absolute gem of...
Read moreShabby and not four star. They advertise parking included. There is no car park. Rather there are maybe six spaces on the pavement in front. Booked for a twin and was given a triple - which on itself was no issue. Elevator stops at 4th floor and we had to carry bags up to the fifth. The rooms are reasonable in terms of what they look like superficially. Old fittings. Beds reasonably firm and supportive. Air conditioning was not working properly in our room. The room was long and rectangular with a small split system which was barely noticeable even at lowest setting at the far end where there were no beds. By the beds the HVAC system pumped out nothing. After waiting for several hours for the room to cool down we contacted reception. There was one guy on duty overnight and he was apologetic saying there was no engineering team on at night. So he moved us to a room along the corridor which had a double bed for my son and I. There the AC worked but not the easiest sleep particularly with a 6+ hour drive back to Phnom Penh the next morning. On closer view the air conditioning filters were dusty and had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. Similarly in the corridor outside the fire hose reel was elderly and it was anyone's guess as to whether it worked and to when it had last been inspected. The carpet was also very shabby along the corridor with dirty marks and bits of what were possibly plaster. The pool looked okay but the adjoining fitness room was tiny with poorly maintained equipment. Okay, Covid hit the hotel industry hard and they are possibly struggling to recover but they should not be letting rooms with inoperable air-conditioning. Negligence or incompetence? Who knows but...
