Beat thing about this hotel is convenient location in Siem Reap city centre.
Friendly receptionist and concierge. They helped us arrange tours and most importantly, quick to help us stay another night when we missed our flight out (may be just because it was off-season and the hotel was fairly empty). Note that only handful of front staff can speak English.
Room was spacious and really comfortable beds. It is good they give you bottles of water everday. Room cleaning service is not to perfection but generally clean. The showers are ok, but there are varieties of issues in each room such as drainage, not hot enough, the door don't close well etc.
Good breakfast is included, mostly western with fresh fried eggs, bacon, sausages, fruits and yogurt. Noodle bar is great too. Would have been good to have more vegetable.
Avoid going to dinner here. May be because it was off-season, there is hardly any customers and lack of staff training stood out. Not only they struggled with English and mistaken our order, the whole meal was a challenge from start to end: waiting staff did not know what menu was on offer, we had set menu but different things came out, staff switched over couple of times during taking orders, took away correct cutlery for no reason and we had to ask for it, bill was confusing and we could not use discounts voucher we were offered but was not warned beforehand etc... Food itself were decent apart from the time the soup came out luke warm and it was not as what the...

Five star hotel? More like a five star descent into service hell. No hot water, no internet, mosquitoes and almost no English.
No working internet in room. Asked for help repeatedly so they kept giving me the password. Tried to explain that I had that and I was connected, but the signal was so weak I couldn't even send a photo in an email. Got no where. They then came to my room at 11pm to show me how to connect to wifi on my own computer. It was already connected - they are just too cheap to get a decent system, so it won't load anything. They couldn't understand this so left after half an hour of getting nowhere. There are backpacker hostels with better.
The bathroom is really old and the shower in our room had a broken drain and was grimy. There was no hot water our first night. Mmm five stars.
The staff are polite but incompetent. Most barely speak any English and do not understand basic questions.
The free breakfast is greasy and they don't provide enough for the amount of guests they have. Also very slow to refill things - like they hope you'll give up and they won't have to provide it. Classy.
The pool area gets very dark at night, with few lights, and swarms of mosquitoes attacking you.
Overall the decor and fittings are cheap, generic, and poorly put together. The place was built in a sleazy grab for cash from the Angkor tourist trade and they have clearly never bothered to update anything, invest in training, or keep up to date with...
Read moreHow this old hotel received any review beyond a 5 0r 6 I will never know. I am departing today so this is a current review. First of all this is a sweat box hotel . There is no air conditioning anywhere but your private room. You will seek refuge there quite often.
When I arrived the air conditioning in the room had not been turned on and therfore hot as hell. Took at least an hour to cool down. Arriving at the hotel about 5PM decided to eat in dining room. Had their special cubed beef dish. Could not chew the meat. Went back to the finally cooled down room and fell asleep only to get up several times during the night to remove the heavy duty comforter. Told the general manager and they said it would be resolved with a lighter comforter. Returned to the room and found a folded sheet on the bed. Bottom line is that this is an antiquated obsolete hotel that was about 10 percent occupied on my visit. The location is good but that is it. Front desk said check out the jacuzzi in fitness room and sauna. Both not working. I paid too much for the few night stay at this place. Finally ther is about a 2" drop from the main floor to the bathroom floor. This is quite dangerous especially during nocturnal times. The male manager agreed that this was a problem or an accident...
