The best hotel stays I’ve had (and I travel a lot). It was absolutely gorgeous and the welcome was over the top, but also very appreciated after a long journey from the U.S. The staff brings you to the lounge where you can relax and cool down with AC. They offer wonderful welcome drinks and check you in. They make you feel like a guest and not just a hotel guest. It was definitely the best hotel check-in I’ve had. I loved it.
We did the hotel dinner with the apsara show our first night. It was beautiful and so elegant. My sister and her husband had the siem reap tasting menu and I had the kampot one (I think?). The meals were incredible. Loved the flavors and the smaller portions. We’re huge fans of amok and it was the best we’ve ever had (we’re Cambodian-American). The papaya salad was on point and SPICY. Loved it. The desserts tasted like our mom’s homemade ones 😍 and she’s famous in our community for her desserts - we even told the chef.
The breakfast was also fabulous - highly recommend it. The French viennoiseries were on point (gotta have the butter) and of high quality. The Khmer dishes were sooo good. Loved that the portions were small, so we could try several ones. I also loved they had different juices and smoothies every day. Everything was so tasteful and delicate.
And the chef also came by for a personal welcome. That makes such a big difference.
And for the amenities - loved the spa. Probably the best massage and facial I’ve had. The welcome drink at the spa was so yummy! The ladies at the spa remembered us throughout our stay. They were all so sweet!
The gym was small, but excellent. The machines were normal, but I liked all the other equipments, weights and all. They also had scented cold towels. So refreshing and relaxing.
And best of all were the pools - so gorgeous!!! We spent a lot of time lounging around because it was CRAZY HOT. It felt like a little paradise.
And pro tip if you’re going to check out the temples: go early before it gets unbearably hot!
The excellent staff remembered our names throughout the stay and made us very welcomed and comfortable. Big shoutout to Jaydai and Susan, who were especially wonderful. We’re all huge fans of Jaydai who was always so responsive (especially on WhatsApp) and committed to make our stay memorable. He very much succeeded.
Bottom line: best hotel ever. I have ambassador elite status with marriott, but Hyatt may have won me over...
Read moreWe have a difficult time when deciding where to stay as Siem Reap has so many nice and hip place with much more affordable price. We even thought about changing two hotels in between so that we could experience one more hotel we are interested. But we are happy that we stick to only one – Park Hyatt in the end.
From check-in to check-out, everyone is so nice and attentive. But what most impress us is the breakfast team. Usually we don’t have much expectation to breakfast as it is the busiest time, guests rush to come and leave while staff rush to receive different breakfast orders, not to mention there is no lounge in Park Hyatt so every guest would go to the Dining Room for breakfast. In such busy hours, you won’t have high expectations on their service. But truly the breakfast team has impressed us most ever, in particular, the Assistant Manager Sopheap. The real different is always in the details and little things can make a big difference. Sopheap embodies the idea with his actions. Not only he attend to your need when you ask, he observes what you need while giving you appropriate level of distance and privacy. A small little act like giving you an extra storage for placing your belongings, a candle to help keep away from the flies, checking out if you have enough or suggesting you to take away some food with you for the day out. Their breakfast spread might not be extensive, but who needs delicacies of every kind for breakfast? Under his leadership, the breakfast team provided a very impressive service to guests and made our mornings very enjoyable and our trip in Siem Reap very memorable.
Speaking of the hotel itself, its location is very close to the Pub street and busiest area. Yet, once you get into the hotel, you feel like you are in the bubble of tranquil. Apart from visiting the temples and dinner arrangement, we simply want to stay in the hotel, sit in our room or dip in the pool to enjoy the day. The spa service is also a point worth to mention. It is definitely much more expensive than the wide variety of options available in the street. But we feel it's like 10 times much more relax and effective.
The hotel might not be a cheap option among the vast choices in Siem Reap but we reckon it worth every penny. We will definitely come back when we visit...
Read moreWe have just completed a four nights stay in the Park Hyatt during our first visit to Siem Reap. This is a luxury ‘city’ hotel that has a great location within Siem Reap where restaurants, spas and shopping are within a short walk away from the property.
We booked using the Hyatt Prive program. Because this is the low season, the stay was of good value, with a one category upgrade to a garden view room and daily breakfast included. Highlights: The room is spacious, nicely designed, and well maintained. Beds and pillows are comfortable (firm pillows are available on request) Shower pressure is excellent. Breakfast is served via a mixture of a la carte supplemented by a small buffet spread of juices and pastries. Loved the cooked to order main courses as it tasted fresh (you can order multiple servings if you so prefer). Quality and quantity are five stars as well. The French Toast is out of this world! Outstanding😀 We order room service dinner on two occasions and the Khmer selections we have ordered are really delicious, especially the fish amok and vegetarian curry. Loved the Le Labo toiletries. Note that the big bottles can be purchased from the property directly at a fair price too. Staff are friendly, sincere and warm, and we could sense they take great pride in their work. Requests for pillows, room service, etc can be made easily via Whatsapp and the response rate was fast.
It is also well known that this property took great care of their staff during the covid lockdown.
If there was perhaps a small area of regret (that could have made it our top favourite hotel experience), it may be the delivery of a special occasion - this was my birthday trip. We have communicated this via email prior to our visit and it was noted accordingly. We did not expect any upgrades obviously, other than what has been offered via the Hyatt Prive program. However, there was no mention of my special occasion, either during check in or in our room. I have to be clear that this hiccup did not affect our experience, and I did not take it any further despite the missed opportunity by the property.
All in all, a solid luxury property that we had the pleasure of staying, and we look forward to...
