I had a very long morning after spending my day very early at Angkor Wat. Naturally, I could go to sleep, but I was very hungry. I knew if I had back to my accommodation, I would less likely to leave.
What did I do? Search up the closest restaurant that had vegan burgers. I haven't had a burger in a long time and I needed one after that early morning. Walked over to Wat Bong. Decided that maybe I want their vegan mac n cheese too.
I thought I would not finish all of this in one go and was prepared to take out any leftovers and eat it later on - but I did. I had my lunch and very early dinner in one go.
Burger: Patty was omnimeat kebab (according to menu). Very meaty and firm texture. came with vegan cheese which had a melty and soft texture. Came with pickles and avocado. Served with fries. This was nice and good. Made me full, but still enough space (somehow) for mac n cheese.
mac n cheese: It was baked or had a roasted top with slightly creamy/light cheese mixture. I did find it a bit dry though.
I recalled I also asked for condiments to dip my chips in (ketchup).
Space is mostly outdoors/windowless. Has fans. Friendly staff...
Read moreSorry to post a negative review. If I don’t like a place I usually don’t review it. But I had high expectations and gave it a second chance and a third chance. Maybe “constructive criticism “ can help them improve. Every time there it wasn’t busy. The first time I tried the “best Mac and cheese in Asia “. It was ok but not great. And it wasn’t hot. Kind of lukewarm The second time I tried a burger. Again it was ok but not great. Third time I tried another version of the Mac and cheese. This one had pulled pork and bacon and I ordered a side of garlic bread. I asked them to please make the Mac and cheese hot. Again really disappointing. The garlic bread was cut into little chunks and put on top of the Mac and cheese. And everything was covered with barbecue sauce. And it wasn’t hot. I ate some of it. I’m not a big eater and it was a concoction of too much stuff. I’m just doing this because if they don’t have feedback they don’t know what people think. It’s a nice little place and nice people. I hope they are very successful! But there’s a lot of good restaurants and competition in Siem...
Read moreWhat can I say about this place apart from WOW!
The burger I got was the classic burger with the house beef and house fries. I was tempted to get the Wagyu beef option but stuck with the house beef and that was an amazing decision for me as it saved me money and tasted unbelievable!!! The burger was rich with flavour, the onions were crispy as can be, the pickles added the slightly bitter taste which elevated the umami of this burger. The cheese was standard decent quality cheese, but the beef patty is where this burger shines. The flavour packed into it was heavenly. Genuinely an unreal burger!
The fries were also amazing, the wedge style, southern fried seasoning for fries really packed a flavory punch in my mouth.
The service was also top tier, they got me everything and anything so quickly and were so kind when delivering my food. They even gave me a cold glass to pour my beer!!!!
I also got the half baked cookie dough which comes with, Ice cream and custard. This was sooooo good, like wayyyy better then I thought it would be!
10/10 definitely recommend...
