stayed at the Best western premiere on Aberdeen in Kamloops B. C. It was the worst stay I’ve ever had at a hotel. I am a single mom traveling with her 2 children coming all the way from Vancouver island, which by the way is 7 hours away driving. I was tired so we stopped for some sushi and a stay for one night. July 17th 2025 to July 18th 2025. || We arrived just after 5 pm . I looked up an app called priceline for the cheapest nicest room. It said on the app it was 181$ . I went to the front desk to make sure that they had a room an available because it said on the app it was non- refundable. I spoke to the front desk girl with the app in her face asking if this was a good price the other girl beside her said it was the best one. So I book the room to find out it was in American dollars. The room price was the same as if I would have just gone to the front desk it came out to 287.00!!! Then they took another 100$ for a deposit. Which I found out later by calling my bank that it was billed as a charge not a deposit. I was shocked and upset but it was my fault for not looking closer, I guess even though there was “ professionals “ present.|| So I bit the bullet and went to the pool with my kid was finally having some fun then I received a credit card notification that my card was charged 222.23 $ by the Best Western Premier. I was like what the heck is going on?? I went to the front desk all stressed out and they said it was a mistake and that my money would refunded in 2 to 10 business days. They charged my card instead of taking it out of Priceline??? It doesn’t even make sense.| | So then I’m getting ready after the swim in my room and I go to brush my teeth and the handle of the sink falls off in my hand. No Im not kidding!! I call down to the front desk to speak to the manager. They said the manager had gone home for the night. I was flabbergasted there was no one to deal with this situation. Then a front desk woman called and asked me if the could move me, I said I was exhausted and just wanted rest. Then they called again and asked if a maintenance man could come in to fix it I said no that I had children in the room. This should have been found and fixed before anyone was given the room!! Then she came up to room to take pictures of tap. I was pretty upset by this time, you can only imagine.|| Finally went to sleep woke up called in the morning and finally found the manager would be in at 9 am, I wanted to leave at 6 but was stuck there to deal with this negative situation. I finally spoke to the manager and all she said was it was my fault I didn’t let the maintenance man in and to not raise my voice. It was completely condescending. She was absolutely no help at all. I just wanted my money back for the terrible night.||So I went upstairs and made a call to the customer relations and the woman Elissa was no help at all they said they would investigate it . She also was telling me it was my fault I didn’t let the maintenance man in. Can you believe this ?? It’s crazy that an industry which says is hospitality isn’t very hospitable. They said they would make a decision for me in 2-5 business days, ya we’ll see.I will never stay at a Best Western ever again and you have been warned. Do not stay at the Best Western Premiere Aberdeen in Kamloops B.C.| | ...
Read moreThis hotel is better in terms of room cleanliness than the Coast Hotels located down the street which I stayed at last year. This year we were with our hockey team again and my experience here was not great. The bathroom sink was not draining properly. When I approached the front desk, the caucasian female employee told me that they don't have any maintenance tech work until the next day and when I asked them to give me draino, it took them a good 20 mins to come to my room. The manager who brought the draino was very helpful. The draino didn't help overnight. The next morning I asked for a plunger or drain snake and the manager brought it to the room. He tried to plunge the drain but it wasn't helping. He offered another room but we didn't want to move our stuff which had unpacked already. He gave me the keys to another room so we could use the bathroom while this one got fixed while we were gone to the game. In the end, they had to call a plumber and snake the drain about 20 feet into the wall. In the end the problem was fixed but we shouldn't have to deal with this during our stay. If the cleaning staff are actually cleaning the bathrooms like washing the sinks then they would have had to use the water and within seconds would have noticed that the water was backing up. Secondly, the cleaning crew should be making note of such issues and letting management know so the problem could be repaired right away rather than waiting for the customer to bring it to their attention. If the cleaning crew isn't making note of this, then this is a failure on them and management of not being proactive.
The rooms were clean otherwise.
We won our game on the second day and so we were going to play for gold which meant we would have to stay later. I asked the young guy who was working Saturday night if I could get an extension for 1 hour and he said he doesn't know how to do and that I have to wait for the manager the next day. He said he would have the manager call me at 8am on December 3. No one called so when I asked the caucasian female employee for another hour, she said no because they had already given out a few extensions to other families from the same group and she also said I was late asking for it. I told her that I asked last night but the young kid working last night said he couldn't do anything and I had to wait for the manager. I asked her if the manager was here today and she told me that he doesn't work on the weekends. So no one knows who is working and some employees don't know how to run the system. There isn't enough luggage carts either.
The parking lot is small for this size of a hotel and knowing that many customers drive big pickup trucks, there should be more parking space and room to...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel a total of 2 times. The first room we had (king bed ensuite with whirlpool) was great! No problems at all. Our second stay was less than impressive and not worth the price they charged. If you get stuck with room 202 quickly ask for a new room. Our problems were as follows:
The door to our room didn’t close properly so when leaving, the door would not shut unless you used your card to unlock the door and only then could you close it.
The fireplace didn’t work and when asked, the front desk person came to check it out and eventually told us the maintenance guy was not around and his manager wasn’t either.
The phone in the room wasn’t working, I unplugged and plugged it back into the wall and after repeating this step 5 times it turned on and then off again by itself (eventually it did stay on for some unknown reason)
The door to the bathroom opens and closes very loudly, it is rubbing on something and vibrates hard. Less than ideal when you have a 7 month old baby trying to sleep.
The whirlpool in the room didn’t work properly, it ran for 5 min and then shut off by itself. We tried pushing the button and flicking the switch that activated the jets/ pressing the red and black buttons as well and it just stopped working. The other room we had the first time, that whirlpool lasted way longer! After we drained the whirlpool, 10min later the jets kicked back on by themselves and we turned the switch off.
The door to the shower doesn’t close properly, so you end up having water leak all over the bathroom floor (hopefully you have nothing on the floor)
Now the minor things are as follows:
No hair dryer in room and already used complimentary bathroom products (shampoo/conditioner bottles)
Lastly we were told their restaurant isn’t renewing their lease so there is no complimentary breakfast, I feel that’s something we should have been made aware either through email or when we checked in.
When I brought up the fireplace, door to our room, and phone problem, the front desk person already knew about these problems.
Definitely not worth the money ($200+) for the night and the only discount they offered was $25 and after I insisted that was a terrible discount they added another $40. I was told they wouldn’t charge my card until the manager and I spoke (he was suppose to email me), but I received a bank notification. They charged me and still no email from their manager. Won’t be staying here again, terrible room and front staff lady lied as well as no message from...
