Heaven Sushi Sake Bar — Restaurant in Kamloops

Do not recommend for a larger party. I made a reservation for 10 people here for my birthday dinner last night, it was clear they were extremely short staffed and kept bringing new tables in, instead of enforcing a wait and were still accepting 3rd party delivery service orders.

It took 25 minutes for us to be greeted, the drinks, appetizers, and entrees all came sporadically so it felt like we never actually dined together. The table maintenance was awful, and the manager just kept clearing empty tables to seat new people at the door instead of tending to the existing tables who hadn't been served - furthering the problem.

The food was good, but the 2.5 hour dining experience was unexpected, and there was zero communication to our group about longer than normal wait times - we have all been servers / bartenders at some point in our lives and would have been extremely empathetic to that, however, it seemed like they only wanted to cram as many people into the restaurant as possible and sacrificed any level of service by doing so. Our group probably would have spent $200+ more had we had consistent service, but it was like pulling teeth trying to get another...

We were the first people in the restaurant at opening and it took over 45 mins to get food, no one checked on our drinks, a gentlemen came in 25 mins after us and received his meal before our family paid and left before we even received food. For reference we were the o ly ones there until he was. It was no more complex of an order than the food we ordered which made no sense. We had an appt to make and as a result had to shovel our food without actually enjoying it. Our server was kind so no complaints for her except not checking on drinks. Food looks nice coming out but my husbands food came out way before the kids and I and my food was barely warm. It literally takes no time to make pancakes. We will NOT be returning to this, I would rather go to crappy McDonald’s because at least you get the service you expect. We had to ask for to go containers and the check before finishing eating and it still took a long time- for reference there were less than 4 other people in there total. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you drop your expectations...

I'm give them a 5 star but really it's 4.5. we had the pink elephant sushi, OMG it was the best food I've ever put in my face! The seafood teriyaki Don - was so unique and so good the next time we come back to Kamloops we will be coming here again! The only thing, the server did not fill our drinks, and when we were ready to go and ask for the bill she disappeared. I had to get up and we stood at the front waiting for somebody to come so we could pay a bill. The other server that was there literally ran grabbed her thing so we could pay it. She was amazing! The cooks in the back very attentive very clean very amazing place very kind. Again I'm giving it a five-star because of their quality of food and quality of service despite our actual server not refilling our drinks. Amazing! It was very well prices compared two other places we eat. My 13-year-old loves Japanese and sushi so wherever we go we try new dishes! This is by far a repeat visit required kind of place!
