On The Rocks Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Kamloops

I was looking for Fish and chips in Kamloops and this was one of the few that serve halibut that was open. It was the best fish And chips I ever had.. So good thaton the way back home just had to stop and have another order of those Fish and chips. The waitress also agreed that is the most popular item and that she recommends it all the time.

Well, obviously, it was a different Chef. I ordered it exactly as I had the last one double dipped and she said the chef says he couldn’t double dip it or did his best. Interesting the other Chef had no issue with it. There is no comment. This fish looked horrible. I wish I had taken a picture. I should’ve sent it back, but I thought maybe it tasted OK again it was very dry. I should’ve sent it back but I didn’t. So that’s on me. And I told the waitress and when I asked her, so what did the cook say?(Calling him a chef the first times was a mistake. He’s just a cook and frankly, I could’ve done a better job.) she said he didn’t really say much and I said no surprise there cooks don’t like to be criticized. Anyways, I think we’ll just go back to going to Duffy‘s. I don’t feel there’s any customer satisfaction, regardless of whether I should’ve mentioned it before The point is I did mention it and I bought two piece Fish and chips so I’m pretty sure they could’ve taken eight dollars off my bill for the second piece. My husband said his steak was medium rare but it looked well done to me. I think he was being nice because I was so disappointed in the fish And it was my idea to stop there instead of our Usual Pl., Duffys

The service in both cases was fabulous. Oh well at least I have the memory of the first perfect order of Fish and chips I ever had so kudos to that...

My hubby and I went there late Friday, and made last call. The bartender was awesome, super friendly service raved up how great the food was. Loved his service. BUT THEN Today, Saturday June 28th. We went again to try the food. It wasn't busy for the amount of servers on. we waited forever just to be greeted at our table and our drink order. Which then the server tells me so long after she was too busy at the bar giggling she forgot about my order (a shooter). Ok well, i still wanted it, thanks that wS a good shooter but could have been done in a more timely manner. THEN what seemed like forever for our food we were there an hour and a half and our food came out COLD. we both ordered the ginger beef rice bowl, sounded delicious! The rice was not very appetizing and cold the ginger beef was cold but at least the broccoli on it was hot! We just nicely, asked for take out boxes to maybe reheat it tomorrow and we paid and left. After such a terrible experience, I only tipped 10% but honestly didn't even want to do that nevermind pay for it or even eat it at later time. Our work seminar had the evening social at this pub right across from our hotel. A company had sponsored the first drink which was nice but then when we wanted to order more, we had to go to the bar as the waitress was just over run with all full tables and several people standing as well. The food was provided and consisted on very small plates of chicken wings, fries, fried shrimp but no seafood sauce and several plate of nachos with cheese and veggies. Every 5 min or so a few more plates came out and were placed on the table but then very quickly grabbed up by those standing. The nachos were tasty but the cheese sort of glued than all together. They did have a very large number of TV’s on the walls, I could not even count them all - maybe 50 or so. I think the servers did the best they could but there were just tooo many people there.
