I have always enjoyed watching movies at the Aberdeen Cineplex Cinemas, but after my visit last night, I’m truly disappointed.
I ordered popcorn and a drink, and the staff member filled the drink cup too much that it was overflowing. The employee just left the cup as it is for me to take it. The drink wasn’t just slightly spilled—it was soaked on the outside. I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to carry it. I had to even consider washing the cup in the toilet.
Then he placed two napkins on the counter, where the drink had spilled, and just stared at me. I wasn’t sure if they expected me to clean the counter.
A few seconds later, the employee wiped the counter and the cup roughly with the napkins, but the drink was still spilling over. Every time I took a sip during the movie, the drink kept spilling onto my clothes, and I had to watch the movie with sticky hands and clothes for the entire two hours. I never imagined I would be treated this way after paying for a product.
There was not even a simple apology, and the only thing the staff member said was that the straw was on the other side. I could tell that they weren’t going to offer any more help. So I went to the sauce bar and wiped the drink myself.
I understand that the staff may have been tired as it was late at night, but I don’t think that should affect the quality of the food and beverages that customers pay for. I was truly disappointed, and I hope the...

NO MORE REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULE TICKETS. When I came they told me to call customer service for an exchange or refund. And when I called the customer service number, they told me to come to the cinema to get a refund or exchange …. (What? 😅)
I’ve always come to this theatre to watch a good film and have a nice time with friends.
If you buy a ticket, MAKE SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE IT. In the past and because of personal reasons or maybe because of horrible weather, when I can’t come to a movie, the cinema has been able to reschedule my ticket for another time, customer service at its finest; looks like this policy is over, unless you change it in around 1 hour (which if you have a life and have a job, can’t do it, not after 6:00 pm and before 1:00 pm on weekdays, the cinema’s doors are locked so you can’t even come in).
I managed to get a courtesy pass after explaining myself to the manager (for like 20 minutes). The manager was very kind to me but I felt like if I was begging someone to get me a new VIP Platinum ticket for the legendary Coldplay’s “Music Of The Spheres World Tour" in Vancouver.
PLEASE ! Make sure you can come to the movie time you bought the ticket for, otherwise, they might not refund you or reschedule...
Read moreLet me tell you about an experience I had at the movie theater. I went in, and there was no one at the ticket kiosk. No matter, I'll get overpriced popcorn and a drink anyhow...maybe they can give me a ticket. 15 minutes in line....that's fine, I'm a few minutes early. Okay, got my ticket, movie starts in 15 minutes. I don't get a very good seat, no big deal...I can see the screen just fine. 15 minutes of lame ads and strange clips. Great, the lights are down...the movie is starting. 18 minutes of commercials. Then the movie starts. Movie is 2.5 hours long. I've been at the theater for almost 3.5 hours?!? And I've paid over $20 for the pleasure. Waste of time, and money. All for the "experience". When the movie start time says 18:35....it should start at that time. Not at 19:00hrs. Absolutely ridiculous. It's no wonder people would rather just set up their own system at home. Safe to say I won't be coming back. I have enough consumerist garbage rammed down my throat on a daily...
