Do yourself a favor & just keep scrolling, there are many, many other hotels that couldn't possibly be worse than this one!
Check in: tried paying with a credit card & kept getting told I could save a lot more money if I paid cash, I did not want to pay cash because I didn't have a lot on me, but the kids were tired & anxious to get in the pool.
The pool: I was told at check in that the city of Niagara doesn't allow pools to open until July 1, so, there was an empty, drained pool. We later discovered that the statement was a lie because we saw SEVERAL outdoor pools open.
The room: the room was decent at first glance, good sized for a family of 4. After taking in the sights all day & returning to the room late that night, we discovered that the TV did not work & the bed was broken (SEVERAL reviews about broken beds), my daughter of a whopping 50lbs climbed in & the whole bed tipped over spilling her out onto the floor. Also, there are no elevators, this was hard on a single mother traveling with small children to carry all our belongings up the stairs, making several trips all while trying to watch children.
Breakfast: ok, a couple little mishaps the first night, decided I would go to the front desk the next morning after our "free" breakfast & see about getting a new room. We stepped up to the lobby doors & were greeted by an angry mob of travelers. "breakfast" was supposed to be served from 6am-9am, it was 730am & not an employee in sight, the lobby was locked up & dark. An elderly couple said they were there at 6am waiting to eat, after 1 1/2 hours of waiting, they had to get on the bus across the street & go into town to PAY for breakfast. Another man was so upset by all the little mishaps he had encountered that he was on the phone with booking.com to get his card refunded so he could go to another hotel, at that moment it dawned on me why I was pretty much forced to pay cash, there was a reason for that - NO REFUND! I waited as long as I could for an employee to open the lobby & feed my hungry kids, but couldn't wait any longer & like the elderly couple, I too found myself driving into town, kids in their PJ's to go PAY for breakfast, which, in Niagara is not cheap $40 for breakfast that I was supposed to get free. By the way, breakfast consists of 2 cereals, coffee, juice, bread & muffins, very basic to say the least.
The refund: after breakfast I called the hotel & someone FINALLY answered the phone, I demanded a refund & had already packed up our room ready to go to a new hotel. I was told I had to wait until 10am until the manager gets there. At 10am I was standing in the lobby, our plans for the day to visit the falls had to be put on hold to handle this awful experience. The manager refused to give me a refund. He did, however give me a coupon to Bird Kingdom, $30 off dinner at Outback steakhouse & moved us to a new room, it wasn't much but I was tired of wasting the short amount of time we had in Niagara on this BS.
The new room: new room was not pleasant, carpet was old & stained, room smelled of mold, it was smaller & guess what? The TV didn't work! The manager promised he'd get it working for us though & he did, we enjoyed watching a snowy, scrambled TV screen for the remainder of our trip.
The hotel itself: while there were a few other travelers staying there, it seemed as if this hotel was a place where the seedy locals lived, the morning we left there was a shirtless man with green hair screaming, singing & dancing in the parking lot. The kids were all staring at him & when he noticed us looking, he stopped & began approaching us with a very unsettling look on his face, I told the kids to hurry up &...
Read moreWe drove a van 500 miles from NY, USA to stay at this hotel that consisted of a group of 7. Overlooking the river in the advertisement was misleading as you only see trees and the rocks on the other side of the river Bank. The manager, Ben, didn't greet us nor smiled with us. He was eager to charge 20 bucks for parking and sell 2 rooms adjoining each other for extra money. When we asked about the parking, he abruptly responded that it's advertised on the site and nowhere else would we get free parking. When we told him we will think about it and confirm , he added we will be fined 100 bucks (the deposit he asked for) if they find our van in the parking lot!! Very unprofessional customer service , no hello no thank you whatsoever grrr 🙄😣 Excuse me we are not gonna park the van sneakily!!
There were also girls at the front counter who were not very fluent in English. They had better customer service and were cheerful not trying to steal our last dime!! The room was good with 2 queen beds, bathroom clean, coffee maker, towels shampoo and soap given. The two rooms we got were on two different floors and on either side of the motel. I think that was done intentionally as we refused to pay extra (well we declined the offer nicely since we had to sleep there that night, we were NOT rude!). Before we went out, we paid the 20 bucks for parking 😏 The next morning, we went for breakfast, the continental breakfast they so advertised, was on the side of the office with 3 tables. Two kinds of cereal (cheerios and corn flakes), bread two kinds, milk, coffee, tea, orange juice, toaster for self service, butter and jelly were offered. When a man from another family (not our group) asked if a certain food item was available, the lady in charge of the breakfast was very rude! She mentioned that every place is different and she wanted to add more items but this is all they will allow!! Talked about people with nut allergies and how there will be a lawsuit if an allergic person ate nuts blah blah. Quite unprofessional and unnecessary!! The whirlpool aerial car ride is just 5 Mt walk away from here. We won't be back to the same place 👎 Ps: next door offered...

That night went up to the front desk to get a new key and the night front desk guy was asleep in the window with his hand down his pants sitting in a chair.. after i had woke him with the bell to get into the front lobby cause the doors are locked he proceeded to ask me where my friend was and he wanted to see her by his self, he wanted to have a " smoke " with her. Assuming we were escorts. It dose not end there.. the next day i go down to the front desk was a Sunday and wanted to extend as the rooms are pretty cheap just stick it out.. well he the manger looks at me pulls a number out of a hat basically and says 220$ !
