We just spent an overnight here for our 20th anniversary. It was a last-minute trip and we were not disappointed! The house manager Bertha is incredibly kind and welcoming. The property itself is stunning. Beautiful attention to detail inside and out. Very colorful artwork inside on the first floor and our bedroom was, neutral toned with punches of color from well placed artwork. The garden is also amazing and well-maintained. We did the ghost tour at Fort George and came back to sit outside with the outdoor fireplace on. What a great way to celebrate our anniversary.
Bertha had asked the night before if I drink coffee and she had it ready in the morning. I enjoyed it on the back porch, which overlooks some of the garden and the Koi pond. The breakfast started with an amazing fruit cup made with local, in season selections. The frittata came with a small salad of micro greens and small tomatoes from her garden, accompanied by a very light dressing. The couple we sat with needed to make the last second dietary change, which Bertha quickly adjusted to.
We usually stay at Airbnb when we travel and this was my first bed and breakfast. I have to admit it was nice to be a guest here! Hoping to...
Read morePlease read my review of The Charles Hotel to understand why I ended up here. |Wow what a fantastic place. The manager Bertha is a lovely calm empathetic intuitive lady who anticipated our every need. |The place is a design oasis. |Comfortable, charming and bouji without being in your face. |4.00 O clock is wine O clock. A lovely bottle opened with sommelier notes. If we’d stayed longer would have definitely purchased some.|We arrived here because a lovely lady at the Somerset Inn ( fully booked) recommended this their sister property. So pleased she did. A huge thank you to Mary and to Darren for helping us get here. |Gorgeous location, lovely lovely garden, beautiful inside and out and only a stone’s throw from the main drag. I really wish we’d stayed here for 2 nights. It’s $9.00 more expensive than the Charles Hotel. Go figure. That $9.00 dollars is the difference between an Old Ford with a broken engine and a sooper BMW with the customer service thrown in - not an added extra! |Just book here! Don’t bother with anywhere else in Niagara on the Lake. ( perhaps Somerset Inn for its lake views)! |Great attitude to customers like this hotel deserves...
Read moreMy husband and I booked a stay at The Royal Manor Inn for a short weekend trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake after seeing the glowing reviews, and we couldn’t be happier that we chose to stay there! Everything was beyond excellent. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable and the bathrooms were updated and well-appointed. The entire building was beautifully restored and had lots of great “hang out” spaces, including a spacious covered patio with a fireplace. The location was great, a little off the beaten path with a picturesque 15-minute walk to the main downtown area. The best part of the stay was the absolutely wonderful manager Bertha, who was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and welcoming! The breakfasts she cooked each morning were hearty and delicious and she had lots of great suggestions for things to do. We also appreciated the 4pm drinks! My husband and I agreed that should we ever plan another trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, this is the only place we’ll ever stay. Thanks again Bertha for such a lovely stay at The...
