Loved everything about the Old School House! The B&B was clean and beautiful. The ambiance was welcoming and the decor was gorgeous. There were pictures tastefully displayed around the B&B of the original school house and it was a treat to feel the sense of history in each room. Our room was spectacular! It was fabulous to have such high ceilings and a separate living room with a sofa so we could relax and unwind with a movie after being out all day. The soaps and lotions in the bathroom were spa-like, natural, and locally made and were very much appreciated. The bed was super comfortable and we slept soundly. Everything in the B&B was thoughtful and well-appointed, from the knife and cutting board in our room that made sharing treats easy, to the coasters they provided on the coffee table and side table. The location is perfect too. It's on a quiet street (which is great for sleeping) but is only one block up and over from Queen Street - where all the shopping is. Best of all was Carrie - our host. She was so lovely and made us feel instantly at home. Anytime we had a question or if we needed anything, she was extremely helpful and quick to reply. And the breakfasts - oh my! It was like having high tea at the Chateau Laurier every morning. I couldn't have imagined a better stay and if I'm ever in the area again, I won't even consider looking at staying anywhere...
Read moreWe stayed in the standard room. We chose this place for it's proximity to the Ghost Walk we had booked. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this Inn was. The room, even though it looks like it may be the smallest, was very spacious. The cleanliness was outstanding, and everything was fresh and clean (paint, decor, furniture). The bed and pillows were soooo comfortable! We had a large 4 piece bath and everything was perfect. There is a Keurig coffee maker (we had 6 cups to choose from), fresh cream in the fridge, wine glasses, plates and a cheese board for those who do the wine tours in the area, 2 robes, a fridge, a flatscreen and more. There is a loft where you can pick from many DVDs and books, and downstairs in the breakfast area are tea bags and little nibblies to choose from (just a little). Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast (toast, bagels, yogurt, fruit, muffins, etc). Would definitely book again. Debbie was a great host! Lots of things within walking distance to the Inn, with the Irish Harp Pub less than a block down the road (dinner was...
Read moreDuring this time of social distancing, we had a lovely getaway to Niagara-on-the-Lake with a relaxing stay at School House B&B c.1859. Our private suite had everything we needed, and more: fireplace, stunning bedroom loft overlooking the living room, soaker tub, in-room coffee and fridge. We enjoyed a drink outside in the evening by the secluded fire, and while we could have had our individual breakfast tray in our room, we chose to eat in the spacious dining room. Carrie and Peter were gracious hosts, who provided us with information on places to visit in the area, and offered another couple ideas of where to go for a bike ride and hike. The School House B&B is perfectly located, which allowed us to park the car and walk everywhere. I especially loved the grandeur of the restored school house, the architecture, the quiet, spacious suite, the beautiful grounds, and friendly hosts. It was a perfect romantic escape, and my friends would love the spectacular School House B&B for our next girls’ weekend. Either way, I will...
