My friend and went on Sunday evening for 7:30pm Ghost Walk. There was about 20 people in our time slot. We had such a great time. Sadly I did not bring a coat with me. First off and most important to me, there was a gentleman working by the name of Kyle and he was amazing and my hero. LOL he lent me his hoodie for the walk. I would have froze if I hadn't had his jacket. Thank you Kyle!!! Our young lady that walked us through the tour was Megan (Not sure of the spelling of her name). She was loud and clear enough so hearing wasn't an issue. Megan gave us some very interesting facts about Fort George that was very informative. Sadly, I didn't encounter any spirits or ghosts but my friend did. As we were walking through a very VERY black dark tunnel, she said sorry to the person in front of her. After the 2nd time, I said to my friend to stop bumping the lady in front of her and turned on my cell phone light..the people in front of us were about 5ft ahead. Sooooo...ya....she wasn't touching or bumping them but she did feel something or someone. Probably a spirit having fun with her. 😂 And yes, my friend and I are both believers in the afterlife. I am 100% going to go back in the summer for a daytime tour. Sooo fascinating of the history that surrounds us. I would recommend this walk for sure. Fun night out. Thank you Fort George staff and also to the spirits that surrounded us. Took pics but they didn't turn...
Read moreJust came back from a grade 12 trip on Halloween.
Site: Fort George is amazing and the care put into the fort is obvious. Everything is well preserved and as clean as a historical site can be. What stands out is how imposing this place is at night. Guides are clear that this is not a place where people will jump out at you and it is obvious when you go there because there is no need. The entrance to the fort alone sets the tone of your tour. Based on that alone I cannot recommend this place enough but the guides also need some props.
Guides:
The guides are extremely knowledgeable, we had Heather who was phenomenal. She knew her history and effectively balanced historical information with the story of the resident spirits. While it was my first time on this tour I cannot speak to any other tour guides however Kyle introduced our group to the site and he also seemed awesome. It simply means I will need to go back for another visit.
If you are looking for something to do in Niagara on the Lake or class trip ideas, I cannot recommend the Ghost Tours enough. It was an awesome experience and I hope to find...
Read moreUnrelated to your tours but I'd like to share my experience. Couple years ago we had a grade 8 over night trip to fort George. Sleeping inside the barracks that are so claimed to be haunted. That night around 3 in the morning me and my buddy heard the sound of heavy footprints / stomping coming up from down stairs, we at first thought it was a security guard until we realized there was no one there and the guard didn't have access to were we all were sleeping, that brings me to the second encounter of a little girl, throughout the night we heard what we thought to be laughing and what sounded to be someone light/small running around yet when a light was turned on, no one was there. I definitely would suggest people take the tour, the encounters are real, and you may just have one if you are...
