Historic Davy House — Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake

I had reserved it based on the reviews and was pretty excited to go and celebrate my boyfriend’s bday. I had emailed the owners about 3-4 days before arrival that we were visiting to celebrate his bday and if they could make the stay memorable. The host replied to google and see attractions in town-I did not expect that response. We arrived on the scheduled day and Jeff checked us in, I was expecting him to wish my boyfriend a happy bday, hope you enjoy the day/celebration but he didn’t care even after I repeated myself at checkin that we are there for his bday. Jeff asked me about dietary restrictions and I explained that I am lactose intolerant and also that I do not eat red meat at all. Fast forward to the evening, I couldn’t sleep in the place, it was too cold and then too hot through the night. There was no thermostat to adjust temp. Come morning and Flo made bful breakfast, really presentable but all full of red meat. Jeff said he didn’t remember about my dietary restrictions. They were hosting only 3 couples and I wouldn’t imagine it was hard to take care at the price they charge, paying $220 for such an experience where we didn’t feel they cared about our special stay, we couldn’t sleep and I could not eat the breakfast at all. I can't say enough good things about my stay here! Before we even showed up we wanted 2 nights but there was only 1 night available so we jumped on it. Once we arrived we begged to have a second night, but unfortunately no one cancelled haha. The location, house, backyard, everything was gorgeous and serene. The hosts, Jeff and Flo are the most adorable and helpful people, truly doing everything to make sure every guest has the best, most enjoyable and memorable experience. The breakfast had a reputation that preceded it, and oh boy did it live up/surpass expectations. We are already planning our return and can't wait....

Our stay was great. Since no one was booked mid week and just after new years. We got to pick our room from the 3 choices. We were provided with a happy and energetic host that you could see really enjoys what she does. Towels were left out for our hot tub trip after dinner. The room was cozy, and the electric fireplace made it super toasty warm. We awoke to a great breakfast made with style and taste.

All and all davy house was an experience we have not tried (bed and breakfast). Would tell many others to give it a shot, as it was...
