This Inn is a bit of a time capsule. Everything is untouched except for some of the lights in the hallway and the bathroom was newish.
You can only book this Inn on Airbnb which is were we found it which was the cheapest in the area (other inns were $240-500 per night).
The front door had a code, which we had to lock of course , but some guests didn’t bother to lock the door. When you walked in the carpet looked old and going up the stairs and very creaky. We were assigned the room by our host on the Airbnb app who was very nice to communicate with and answered any of our questions pretty quickly. The key to our door was hanging on a nail beside the door which was different but then again there was no one except other guests to talk to in the Inn.
The room was quite small and we could hear everything that people the next room was doing. The shower head looked old, and the bedside table lamps looked old and one didn’t work. The bed was old, small, and creaky. There was no table to put our stuff on besides a really small thin dresser. There was also no ice machine available.
It was kinda odd that it’s called an Inn but it ran like a Airbnb. The hotel has so much potential to be updated and run like...
Read moreThis needs to be updated with more current reviews. Pictures on Trip Advisor show what used to be a boat tour business that was operational on the main floor. This no longer exists so the pictures are not reflective of reality.
Indeed, the room is clean, the pictures of the room are accurate, but the entrance way and stairs to the rooms on the second floor are not inviting. I am a frequent traveller, and this one just doesn’t pass muster. The entire main floor of this building is not used by any business and thus looks like the entire building is abandoned at first glance.
The parking lot has pylons covering half the parking lot showing what areas are unsafe to park, due to asphalt that has heaved and remains in disrepair.
At the very least, the windows should be covered with paper, even decorated, to at least acknowledge that there is a bonafide business somewhere here. If you pay attention to reviews, they are mostly 2-3 years old, which is in no way current to the status now.
The owner (see recent review reply) has claimed they haven’t run the place since 2018, so that begs the question, who is running...
Read moreI booked a one-night stay for Saturday Oct 14th, and I booked it 5 months in advance, because I knew I would be in town for a wedding and wanted to locate and lock in a cost-effective rate. Then, on the evening of Thursday Oct 12th, with less than 48 hours’ notice, my reservation was cancelled. The reason provided was “Severe plumbing backup in building.” I was left scrambling to try to find another accommodation, with a day and a half until the wedding; by this time, most vacancies were gone, outside my price range, or far away. While I understand that a plumbing crisis was probably an unpredictable event and necessitated the cancellation of my reservation, I take issue with the ungracious manner in which the host Ben handled the situation. Ben’s communication was limited to: “Reservation cancelled. Severe plumbing backup in building.” He did not apologize or make any acknowledgement of the inconvenience for me. Nor did he offer any help or suggestions in finding alternative accommodation. And when I messaged him asking for more information and inquired about alternative accommodation options, he...
