Stayed here for one night while visiting Punta Arenas for business. For South American standards, this is a nice and comfortable hotel. It's located in the heart of downtown, in a safe area, with many restaurants and shops in the area. The room is a bit outdated but there was constant warm water. There's a restaurant inside the hotel that offers complimentary breakfast and a tasty lunch and dinner. There's also a bar offering beer and liquor.||||Pros:||Service - the young gentleman who helped check us in was very friendly and helpful. He was always quick to help and made sure me and my party were satisfied at all times. He is the main reason for this 5 star review. ||Great location - safe to walk around, even at night, Supermarket about 4 blocks away (10 min. walk). Banks, cafes, souvenir shops, restaurants, etc. all in the vicinity. The water is about 5 blocks away. Airport is about 20-25 minutes away.||WIFI speed was consistent ||Shower had consistent warm water. Good plumbing with toilet||||Cons:||Elevator is a bit old. If you can, take the stairs (good exercise, too).||Breakfast could offer more hot foods. Eggs and toast were the only options.||||If I visit the area for business or leisure, I would...
Read moreI walked in to Hotel Los navegantes in Pinta Arenas on a Thursday night, after an exhausting day in Torres del Paine and a long journey to Punta Arenas. Check in was fast, flawless, with friendly staff. It just got my attention that a junior staff was about to roll a cigarette in front of me if he wasn't warned by the guy in charge. It just looked weird and somewhat funny. Ok, I just needed a good bed to crush and a powerful shower. After a long shower decided to go to the restaurant for a meal prior to my rest, and that's where in my opinion the hotel shows the need of improvement. Staff looked in a rush for last call, my Gnocchi del capitan were a 4, with microwaved reheated few days old beef stew, and no time for dessert. Head of front of the house took a large order for desserts on a table next to me and then he didn't know who ordered what. It was a demonstration of what not to do. Went to my room and sleep was good. Comfy bed, good pillows, right temperature. Breakfast a bit on the disappointing side. For 80 USD a night I would expect something better. Not much, just little things would have compensated a couple of points...
Read moreDon’t get fooled by its 4-star ranking. This 4 star is not international standard. No basic hot water supply at fall season when it’s 2c degree outside. We couldn’t take a shower for two nights, seems it will be the deal for our whole stay. Front desk staff offered very low class customer service, his answer to this basic request was always “there is nothing I can do” and “I don’t know”. Maybe it’s the problem with the capacity of the hot water facility, there is really nothing he could do ☹️ so it is nowhere near 4-star hotel. We were quite disappointed.
On the other hand, the restaurant staff were very accommodating, and the manager Mariana was great in explaining the menu and offering to pack our breakfast for our early morning tour schedule. Food was fresh and decent. Big portions too. We would give 5 star to the restaurant. But 0 to the room facility and service.
It’s our first time in Chile and was not impressed by the outdated facilities and cold front desk customer service at all.
DO NOT recommend to anyone. The value offered is way less than what...
