Fortune Diamond

Every 20 minutes, the Diamond Lobby's main attraction, the fountain displays a giant Fortune Diamond, accompanied with music. This show spans 5 minutes. At the start of the show, the accompanying music begins and the fountain exteriors are raised with the above chandeliers raising as well, to cover for the diamond rising. Then, the exterior fountain drops to reveal a large diamond spinning around with overhead lamps shining across it, displaying several colours. After its spin, the fountain exteriors raise again to hide the diamond and the fountain exteriors drop to its normal positions, thus ending the show. Jeremy Railton, President of Entertainment Design Corp, commented, "It's a metaphor for wishing casino goers eternal luck and prosperity."

Wishing Crystals

The lobby also houses a series of "crystals" that float above a pool of water. The decorations have motion sensor technology that triggers special visual effects when guests come close. When all the "crystals" are activated, good luck symbols flash from the "crystals" and reflect in the water

Gold Leaf Cupolas

Galaxy Hotel Macau, Poolside

There are 6 gold-covered cupolas at the top of the two towers of Galaxy Macau. Four of them measure 15 metres (49 ft) high and the other two at 24 metres (79 ft).

Galaxy Laseram

The gold-leaf cupolas of Galaxy Macau feature a laser show system which projects laser beams into the sky every 15 minutes. It is claimed to be the largest laser show in the world and is visible across Macau.

UA Galaxy Cinemas

On 15 December 2011, Galaxy Macau opened UA Galaxy Cinemas & East Square. Action star Jet Li and director-producer Tsui Hark were among the VIP guests to celebrate the occasion. The opening programme included the premiere of Tsui’s latest work, The Flying Swords of Dragon Gate 3D, China’s first 3D wuxia movie, which stars Li, Zhou Xun, Chen Kun and Gwei Lun-mei.

Galaxy Macau is a casino resort located on the Cotai Strip, Macau, China. Construction on the Cotai project began in 2002. Its opening was rescheduled several times. Its developer, Galaxy Entertainment Group, announced on 10 March 2011 that the HKD 14.9 billion (USD 1.9 billion) resort would officially open on 15 May 2011.The resort is designed by Gary Goddard.The resort consists of six different hotels, each with its own 'theme', Galaxy Macau, Broadway Macau. Banyan Tree, Hotel Okura, The Ritz Carlton and JW Marriott. When the Cotai project's first phase opened in 2011. The 550,000 square metres (5,900,000 sq ft) property offered around 2,200 hotel rooms comprising the 1,500-room Galaxy Macau hotel tower complete with casino and entertainment areas, as well as two hotel partners, the Japanese-owned 410-room Hotel Okuraand the Singapore-operated Banyan Tree Hotel that will have 254 suites. On 26 April 2012, Galaxy Macau announced that JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels would be added to the Cotai resort. Galaxy's Chief Financial Officer Robert Drake said it would start construction of the two hotels at the end of 2013 and begin operations gradually from 2016 through 2018. According to a presentation released by Galaxy Entertainment, the total investment for Galaxy Phase 2 was estimated to be 16 billion HKD with construction completion scheduled for mid-2015. Phase 2 would consist of 450,000 square metres (4,800,000 sq ft) of new resort space, an additional 3600 hotel rooms and increasing the casino table...

I stayed at Galaxy Hotel in the Galaxy Suite, and honestly? It was so much better than I expected. The suite itself was super spacious and luxe, with a beautiful view overlooking the old town of Pai Kok and the green hills of Taipa—which was such a refreshing contrast to all the glitz and glamour. It felt like I had the best of both worlds: city skyline + nature right outside my window.

The Grand Resort Deck access is literally to die for. If you're staying at Galaxy, you can go straight up with no hassle, and it’s totally worth it for that alone. It’s the world’s largest rooftop water park, and every single time I went it was pure joy. Floating around the lazy river one day, watching the sunset from the wave pool the next—it really makes you want to stay longer.

Breakfast was at Café de Paris Monte-Carlo (yes that’s the name I forgot 😅), and it was a very cute start to the day with a solid spread and a Parisian-inspired vibe. I also had lunch at their Cantonese restaurant Tam Chai Yu Chun, which was sooo good—refined flavors, beautiful plating, and very warm service.

Speaking of service, everything from check-in to butler service was just seamless. They even had turn-down service, which I genuinely miss at hotels these days. The amenities were so luxe—BVLGARI bath products (hello?? 😭), and the minibar is complimentary for one-time use, which was such a classy touch. If you want it refilled, then it’s chargeable, but I love that they even offer that for free at all.

And the Diamond Lobby… oh my god. It’s honestly a destination in itself. There are dazzling crystal shows, the architecture is stunning, and it leads into the resort which is MASSIVE with so many dining, shopping, and entertainment options. It’s all interconnected but doesn’t feel chaotic—it’s like a city designed for leisure.

Also super handy: there’s an LRT station right by the VIP East Entrance, so getting around Macau was so easy. I even used it to go to Coloane and Taipa with no stress.

Overall, Galaxy Hotel is such a great option if you want luxury + direct resort access + amazing service. There’s nothing basic about this hotel—it delivers everything...

I stay there for a holiday good for 4 nights before my flight going to Australia. Unfortunately, I got a worst experienced eversince staying in a 5 stars hotel. Not recommendable and will not come back to this hotel anymore. We got a trouble from the reservation team with our booking that they didn't received our booking and was asked for checkout. We was troubled providing some details and informations which was already been settled thru travel agency. So, we rushed back to the hotel from Senado Square just to settle it. Shouldn't be they should communicate to the travel agency as well, as they know already that I gave them all sort of informations on my bookings.

We made a phone call to the In-Room Dining Service coz we're starving at around past of 11pm. Twice attempt but nobody's answering then on the third attempt was answered. The thing is, the staff did answered our call on the third attempt, but while we was making an order suddenly hang up without saying something like "please wait for a moment or can I put you on hold for a minute". We waited for a return call but they even didn't gave us a return call. So, we ended up walking outside to grab a food as we're starving late night. Anyway, we got complimented after that night with a bottle of champagne and a fruit platter, thanks to Manager Ivan, if I'm not mistaken, for the compliment and appreciated.

Bathtub also is not working and we asked for a changed of linens but really smell awful and stinky so we asked to take out the pillows on the next night.

Other thing is about my health code changed orange, I know it's the Macau government protocol but they also did their part like offering some bottle of water or whatever sort of help. Luckily, the security guard outside noticed me standing for a long time and handed me a bottle of water and talked to me while waiting for 5 hours outside. I met him at the Diamond Lobby after that day and said hello to us. Indeed, hotel staff are nice, accommodating, and giving us a warm welcome everytime.
