Don Quijote de la Mancha — Restaurant in Taipa

Reserved a table a week earlier for 13 people for the Easter holiday but they canceled our booking a few hours before our dinner. We called them right away to keep the table for us and they asked us to be there 15 minutes earlier. We did get there 15 mins earlier but they told us the table was occupied by others already. We needed to wait for another table again with a long waiting list.

It is absolutely unacceptable to cancel our booking after they had reconfirmed to keep it for us and wasting our time. Their attitudes were so rude and didn't admit their bad arrangement. We didn't see they could provide good service to customers as well as some people needed to get the food from the kitchen by themselves due to staff shortage. Sunday lunch at @donquijotemacau . Was an overall nice experience with some aspects that can be improved. The Cava Sangria was really nice! We were received by friendly staff that brought us two (!) slices of a sweet garlic bread. Could be more and normal bread…! We started with (what I was hoping and praying!) some Padron Peppers but the size was like getting bell peppers..! So sad and disappointing… The rest of the food was nice, way better than last time I was there, so it was a nice lunch. Desserts should be improved as there’s a very small selection and hardly any truly Spanish one! Walked in on a weekday afternoon and the place was quite empty. The restaurant has 2 entrances as to serving 2 different cuisines but you could order from both menus no matter which side you chose to sit in.

I was super impressed with the speed they delivered the food. Super efficient while not sacrificing the food quality. Food were still served hot and fresh.

Highly recommend to try the Garlic Fried Baby Octopus which was well seasoned as an appetizer.

Their lunch sets were also a good deal as it comes with garlic bread, a soup and a dessert afterwards.
