I have just checked out after 4 nights here and I would highly recommend for any backpackers or people on a budget. The guest house is in the Chungking mansion which is completely safe despite what you may read in other reviews, the only hassle you will get is guys trying to get you to eat at their restaurant as you enter the building. The location of the Chungking mansion is perfect to walk to the star ferry terminal, avenue of the stars etc and there is also a metro station outside to get anywhere you need as well as all shops etc. The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful and there is a water cooler with instant hot and ice cold water, we were given fresh towels each day and the shower was hot and powerful, the bed was comfortable and the A/C was good. Of course the room is SMALL but for the price in a city like Hong Kong I don’t know how you could expect it to be any bigger. If you plan to get up and be out and about for the entire day hiking and exploring the city like us and just need a comfy place to stay with a good location I could not recommend this place enough. If I return to Hong Kong I will stay here

English version: Accessing the rooms is a real ordeal: you pass through a dilapidated building to reach a tiny, painfully slow elevator, where waiting in line seems unavoidable. Once you enter your room, the real problems begin. If the photos suggested a cramped space, the reality is even worse: "uninhabitable" is the word that best describes it. The bathroom is no better: mold is visible, and the toilet brush is far from clean. Showering is an uncomfortable experience, as you’re squeezed up against a water heater, and using the toilet feels like a challenge due to the complete lack of legroom. As for the bedroom itself, it’s an absolute nightmare. The mattress, a thin, worn-out 5cm slab, allows you to feel every single spring beneath it, making sleep impossible. I didn’t even dare to check if the mattress was stained. The bedding was visibly dirty and stained, while the towels were riddled with holes and marks of neglect. To make matters worse, finding peace and quiet is out of the question: a constant hum from outside makes restful sleep a distant dream. The only slightly redeeming feature is the air conditioning, which, despite its suspicious installation, works relatively well. It’s worth mentioning that the staff are kind and welcoming, which offers a small glimmer of positivity. However, this does not excuse the owner, who is ultimately responsible for the condition of this establishment. A place like this should simply not be in operation.

The rooms are clean, the beds comfortable, the staff friendly and accommodating which is not common in Hong Kong. This city is notorious for tiny spaces but this guest house is comfortable enough. The underbed space is clean and allows for storage of luggages. They use white beddings and it is clean. The towels are a bit small but they change it everyday. It has decent amenities a small fridge, basic toiletries, universal plug, and they provide hot and cold drinking water. The best part is how clean it is. There are no off smells, bed stains, nor any trace of insects. This is a guesthouse in chungking mansion and one of the best in the area.

The room internet gave my phone a virus first minute using the WiFi. Took me over a month to get my WeChat working again. The public network is probably used by scammers as I was informed later. Booking and check in was relatively easy & super deceptive, host was very polite at all times but spoke rubbish when he opened his mouth. Paid several hundred on top of the room rate for "service & cleaning""...which was never touched in the four nights there. We swept the floor ourselves, emptied the rubbish bin & found fresh towels ourselves. Room service simply does not exist, yet paid for! That is theft. ||TV never worked, as with the air conditioner. We were assured a technician was coming the 2nd day however, that never happened. Room had a ceiling fan which are usually great but this one was too noisy to use, such a shame. Bathroom was tiny if not micro, complete with a broken toilet seat, yet still remained functional as a bathroom. The larger bed was very noisy with every movement as the base was created by many off-cut pieces of wood. Consequently, the mattress was getting very moldy as it was unable to breathe against the plastic laminated wood surface. This bed is only suitable for a person no taller than 174cm or both feet will touch the wall. The other bed is similar in size but open at the foot end. Bed sheets were very thin stained with blood & had several holes too. The room had a step in the center. See pic please. Certain to trip someone over in the middle of the night and stump toes at any time. Room is generally quiet enough. Noisy by other guests talking outside, little noise from the window as courtyard appears used for...

Stayed here as close proximity to Space museum. Better hotels are closer as since discovered. Booking and check in was easy, host was very polite at all times.
