Grand Dragon Hotel — Hotel in Taipa

Stayed in this Hotel during my Recent Visit to Macau. The Location of the Hotel is Good just opposite to the Jockey Club and nearby to Macau Stadium. Public Transport is Nearby and Convenient. Supermarkets, Shops and a Host of Restaurants / Food Eateries nearby which is an added advantage (Backside Road of the Hotel. under 2-3 Minutes Walk). The Hotel has a Free Shuttle Bus Service for Pickup / Drop off from Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal which is Good but finding it is a Tricky Affair.||||The Rooms are 'Old Design' Nothing Impressive or Great. Spacious Though. They have an In House Casino with a Decent Choice of Games on 1 - 2 F. Restaurant is on 3F. Staff are Friendly but most of them do not Understand or Speak English. Communication in English will be a Challenge unless you know Chinese. Also the Entire Hotel is "Non Smoking" including Rooms / Public Areas which will be a Discomfort if you are Smoker.||||But the Hotel is currently under Renovation which makes it Inconvenient. The Lobby / Check-Inn area is on the 21F which i felt was Strange. Looking Forward to see the Changes after Renovation.||||The Lobby and Room Service needs to be Improved. Air Conditioning is Very Old and needs Serious Improvement.||||Will Stay here Next time for the Location and Amenities Nearby. Value for Money...

We stayed at this hotel on new years eve for one night as we were in the area to attend the NYE party at the Venetian Hotel.||||In terms of location,the hotel was approx 10 minutes drive from the ferry terminal and 5 minute drive from the Venetian, Galaxy and Parisian Hotels.||||We read some fairly negative reviews about this hotel before we arrived however availability was limited when we booked as it was new years eve so decided to give it a chance. ||||The hotel was under refurbishment so there was some disruption but none that affected our stay. ||||The welcome at reception was warm and friendly, there was some feedback on other reviews that the staff didn't speak English but this was not our experience, we were able to communicate with the staff just fine. ||||The bedroom was clean and comfortable if not a little basic and old fashioned although perhaps this will be addressed during the refurbishment? There was a bath and a shower, a fridge, air conditioning, free wifi, a safe and some extra amenities in the bathroom.||||We paid £200 room only for the night which was very expensive however as it was NYE all of the larger hotels on the strip were charging two or...
