This hotel rates about 3.5. The main drawback is the noise, in some rooms. I was initially in a room with a window, facing calle 10 (a fairly busy street). I asked to move and they had nothing on the side facing calle 9 (quieter side), however they put me in a windowless room (middle of hotel, at my request) which was fine. In the day, you are in the heart of a very nice area, with older buildings to see, a variety of shops (up the hill toward carrrera 3) and some good bargains in the area of calle 10 and carrera 10 (there is a little market there and if you go around that general area (across carrera 10) there are various shops and...
Read moreChose the hotel on a combination of its price and location - both were pretty much spot on. Very close to Plaza Bolivar and the old town so excellent for sight-seeing on a tight schedule. Felt safe at all times, might look a bit dodgy outside but its on a street full of tailors and there's always security around so never felt in any danger wandering about. The rooms themselves are on the small side, but all we wanted to do in there was sleep so don't need a palace. The bathrooms are precision made - again if you like to spread out with lots of space this probably isn't the hotel for you. ||Overall an excellent start to our trip to Colombia, only thing where it loses marks is we could have done without the TV being on in reception all night, but it wasn't a major issue. The main plus is the staff who were very helpful...
