Hotel Ambalá Bogotá Colonial — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

I actually really liked this hotel when I first checked in, but that soon changed. Initially I thought my boyfriend would only join me the next day, and did tell them that they should expect two people for the room on the second day, he did in the end manage to join me on the first day and he did check in properly and leave his details. Next thing we know they are calling at 11 at night very rudely saying that we need to pay for the extra person. We let them know that we will sort it out in the morning. 10 minutes later they call again, this time it's the manager. Again we let them know we will sort it out in the morning. I've never experienced anything like it. In the end we end up paying much more for the extra person then we would've done for a double room and the girl on reception is rude and condescending. I've travelled the world and worked in hotels myself, and this is beyond anything I've ever experienced. Stay away! Clearly money is more important to them than service and...

We we wanted to stay in historical city center cause we were exploring Bogota for the first time thats why we choosed this place.||The cheapest rooms are 90 000 its fine but dont expect much for this cause the rooms are total tiny. Apart from this the staff is very helpful and part of them speak English.||Forget about the breakfast better go to the nearby bakeries and get some fresh bread.||During the weekend there are busy bars outside so try to get a room to the back. I cannot recommend staying in the historical city center cause its surrounded by "No Go areas" but if you want its a recommended...

Don't not stay here if you need your luggage kept, if you have an evening flight! They only store luggage till 5pm. We had to find a hostel up the road to look after our luggage wasting so much time. They will offer you the room till 6pm for an extra £12 but if you need it longer than that they have no other options for you. They forgot to put toilet roll in the bathroom and didn't answer our emails for 3 days with resulted in them rejecting a package that was sent to the hotel. I will say the bed was comfortable and the room was clean... But beware as they luggage situation is simply...
