Colombian Emeralds - Emerald by Love — Local services in Bogota, Capital District

It took me a little while to put this review together because I wanted to make sure I can convey how wonderful of an experience it was working with Emerald by Love. One of my big bucket list life items was to purchase a pair of amazing emerald earrings for my 40th birthday. It lined up perfect with a trip to Colombia (which was one of the main reasons I wanted to visit Colombia). I found Emerald by Love online and reached out to them about doing an Emerald Mine tour.

We did an Emerald Mine tour with Christian and Julian, which was so much more than I could’ve anticipated. We stopped at a couple of amazing local places to eat, and met the emerald minors at the mining camps. The entire experience was insane and I learned so much about Colombian culture and emeralds. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and I felt totally safe.

After we returned, I knew I wanted to purchase from Emerald by love it, so we went to visit the stores in Bogota. They showed me their inventory, even sourced a few stones for me, based on what I was looking for, and even went and above, and beyond step of helping us navigate Bogota at times.

They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for so we worked together to come up with a custom design, they even suggested a few things I hadn’t thought about. They put the design together, sent me photos and mock ups and put together the best emerald earrings I could’ve ever imagined. I’m absolutely thrilled. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better experience. Excellent experience at the store, I chatted via WhatsApp about what I wanted and arranged to visit the store. Laura could not have been more helpful and patient. She provided many options for my budget and was not pushy or did she pressure me at any point. The jewelry and quality on display were beautiful and they do have more options, just ask! I ordered a custom ring and it was ready before the end of my trip, but do give yourself some business days if you go the custom route, so if you are in the market for something go in the beginning of your trip so it is ready in time. The range of emeralds they have is impressive and fits every budget. I wish I had time for a mine tour, but I was just happy they worked with my schedule to get my ring and earrings done just in time. We had a wonderful experience at Emerald By Love. From the very beginning, we were treated with professionalism, ethics, and total trustworthiness. Paula was the one who helped us, and she was absolutely exceptional — kind, patient, and attentive, especially with my mom, who took her time selecting her favorite pieces.

The staff offers perfect bilingual service in English and Spanish, which made everything much easier since my fiancé is American. They gave us great advice on emerald quality, pricing, and the different types available, and even explained how the tax refund process works and suggested safe transportation options from their store to our hotel.
