Hostal Internacional — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

If you're a guy or a group of guys looking for an affordable place where you can do whatever you want then this is the place for you. It wasn't however the place for us. The rooms are really poor, our room didn't have any glass on the windows and when we were there it was 4 degrees C at night, which is cold enough to want glass between you and the outside. The hot water didn't work, neither did the light in our bedroom. Even the wifi was dodgy and would cut in and out. If they weren't charging us $25/ a night (which is on the comparable side to many nicer hostels) we may have slugged it out for a night but instead we went to complain about some of the deficiencies and asked for another room with windows but instead we were told that no hotels in Bogota have windows (which is of course ridiculous) and that there was no other rooms available. We decided to leave but the manager insisted we pay at least half the nights accommodations! We refused so he called the tourist police and then changed his entire story. Of course the tourist police speak no language other than Spanish and to be honest, while we speak sufficient Spanish its not really enough to argue our case in court. In the end we stayed one night then booked it the hell out of there and Bogota the following day. It was really our only bad, and worst experience, not only in the country but during our entire trip to date. We did meet a couple of great brit guys who liked the place but they also got the room for 1/2 the price and liked the dirty hotel feel so to be fair its not a bad place...

I don't know what was it with the pillows but they were those plasticky ones that are very slippery and make funny noises but at least solid. For a double room with private bathroom and tv we paid 50 mil and for shared bathroom we paid 35 mil which was alright. The showers were hot and you are given soap and towels daily. The kitchen is also good but it's not like one of those hostels that has tonnes of free stuff like tea or coffee or sugar. You kind of have to gear up for all that. We were there when it was about 14 degrees outside and the room wasn't cold or uncomfortable. The walls are thin though so take your earplugs. While we were there, there was a snorer in the next room and we could hear him loud and clear. ON the plus side, there's also this funky sandwich shop just below and it's super cheap. So even though breakfast is not included you can get it right at the doorstep. And I'd also like to add that there's a tv room that is very social with sofas and cushions and the owner is super friendly...

Y OJALA HUBIECE CALIFICACIÓN MENOS CERO. APARENTEMENTE ES LIMPIO. ⚠️NO HACEN ASEO EN LAS HABITACIONES, NO RECOGEN LOS PAPELES DE LA CESTA,ESCAPE DE AGUA EN EL BAÑO. LA DUCHA SALIA AGUA FRIA. DICEN UN VALOR Y ALLA ES OTRO VALOR. DEMASIADO RUIDO DENTRO DEL HOSTAL. POR LAS LAS EMPLEADAS DEL HOSTAL DICE NO FUMAR Y UNA DE ELLAS PARECE UNA CHIMENEA, ES FATAL EL OLOR A CIGARRILLO. DICEN TENER TODO LLENO Y ES FALSO!!! SOLO ENGAÑO, QUE PEREZA LA GENTE MENTIROSA PÉSIMA SEÑAL WIFY. ⚠️TELEVISIÓN PÉSIMO LOS CANALES. SI ES FAMILIAR PARA QUE CANALES INDECENTES. ENFERMOS!!! NO RESPONDEN EL TELÉFONO DE HABITACIÓN YO TUBE QUE LLAMAR AL NÚMERO DEL HOSTAL PARA QUE SE DIGNARAN EN RESPONDER. SE MOLESTAN AL DECIRLES LAS FALLAS. LA COCINA SUCIA ES UN ASCO. NO HAY BUEN SERVICIO Y EL QUEJARSE DE LOS DUEÑOS NO ESTA NADA BIEN.POR ENDE FRACASAN. LA PEREZA ES EL NOMBRE PARA LAS EMPLEADAS DE ESE HOSTAL.
