Would not recommend this place. It looks nice from afar, but you can tell most things are old and worn out when you try to use them. The phone doesn't work, so anytime I need anything I have to go down to the front desk. That in itself is a journey, since I have to take an elevator down one floor - I can't take the stairs because I found out that the doors are locked from the inside of the stairwell - and then I have to walk through the business center and dining area to go down another set of stairs to get to the front desk. When I got stuck in the stairwell I tried calling the front desk because I went down to the first floor of the stairs and read that the door had an alarm...no one answered after waiting several minutes. Luckily there wasn't an actual alarm, but I was stuck in there for 15 minutes because I didn't want to cause a false alarm.
Also, inside the fridge are a few drinks, with a little tag over one of the waters saying "We wish you a pleasant stay" and no mention of costs. When I asked downstairs they said everything had a cost, but did not give me a price sheet in my room (apparently I'm just supposed to know prices on my own). When I talked to the front desk letting them know I already opened a water because I thought it was free, she basically told me "too bad" and that I'd still have to pay for it. She looked for like one second for a menu and then just started listing off prices instead of trying to get me a list for my room.
I also asked the front desk to order room service since my phone wasn't working (nor was the phone app, because it stopped accepting orders before 9pm even though room service is open until 9:30pm...and even though the guide in the room says its open 24 hours), but she sent me elsewhere to order it rather than trying to help an obviously annoyed customer. The restaurant upstairs seemed confused but eventually helped.
These are just the issues with the services, but in my room the plugs are loose, the windows don't block any noise and I'm right in front of a major road with constant traffic and horns/ambulances), the walls are thin and I can hear my neighbor when he's making noise, most of the hangers were old and broken, and the tv is old and cumbersome to use. The space itself is a lot of wasted space. It looks big but only because its mostly hallway.
The gym was also very old and very cramped. There was no space to actually work out, so it was only good for the treadmills and elliptical. If you wanted to use weights there was only one bench and it was around the corner from the weights themselves. The weights were right in front of the door and treadmills, so if anyone else came in it was a traffic jam. No towels were available either, so doubt the gym was being sanitized at all.
Honestly the only good things I can say about the hotel is that there are good restaurants and a few coffee shops within a short walking distance of it. But that has nothing to do with the hotel other than it's location. If you're going to stay in a hotel in Bogota, I'd recommend...
Read moreI really enjoyed the view and the additional space we had in our hotel room with the Junior suite. The location of the hotel was also amazing, next to some fantastic restaurants, grocery stores (with bakery, etc) and street vendors -- its also connected to a mall which was a nice unexpected touch.
Now the downsides: 1) there was no heating in the room, OR the water from the sink. It was fine if we were given a space heater upon arrival or if we were told, but I was not aware of this until we were in the room and nearly freezing our butts off. 2) The balcony is nice, but when its cold, you can barely stand out there. It would be nice with a spa or something covered so that when it is raining its not an issue to sit outside with a nice view, and maybe eat. Otherwise, its too cold and rainy to sit there (at least in June). 3) cleanliness of the place was so-so. The carpets had some ripped up places and discoloration from before we arrived. 4) they advertise the hotel as having a "rain shower"... its just a normal showerhead, nothing fancy. No greater water pressure or extra experience. But the water HEAT was great!! Also the beds are HARD -- not exactly comfortable if you have pain in any of your joints. 5) There was a sauna, but it did not work when we tried to go downstairs. There was no one sitting there to help, and we were just confused why it wouldn't turn on. We didn't use the gym or the massage parlor, but those looked nice enough. No pool, which was a downside. I had seen a review that said there were hotels nearby which had a pool and we were allowed there, but I was not told that upon arrival.
Overall, this place is advertised as 5 stars, but I'd claim it to be 3.5 at best. I rounded up because of the location. It was fine, but not the 5 star experience...
Read moreRooms are serviceable I would say very low ceilings and bit dark. I stayed in the suite here and coming over from presidential suite at Hilton Corferias it was quite the contrast. However, four nights here combined were actually cheaper than even one night at the Hilton so I have factored that in to my rating.
Good: -Location (very close to parque 93) -Very quiet at night for a restful sleep -Friendly helpful staff -Affordable for the location
Con: -Room could use updating -Suites are located on the premium building but those building are right above the restaurants. Didn't bother me but you will smell the grilling of meat during open hours if your rooms are facing the park. -Premium building shares the building with the offices, and above the 4th floor are the offices. I was on the 4th floor and there was a flooding that occurred which affected my room and others. We were relocated to the other side of the 3rd floor. Staff did the best they can but there was a LOT of water being dropped from the ceiling.
I think it is a good value for the price but I would probably skip the suite here (suite on NH collection in Guadalajara was great) in this location and go for regular rooms with higher view away from the office /...
