Hotel Bocagrande — Hotel in Cartagena

Personally, I selected this "hotel" based on the high rise picture and I was honestly already on the fence about it based on the mixed reviews about the place. Most regrettable and don't recommend it (not like it is on the cheap end either). There are far better places in the area. Yes location is convenient but that is relative to what you like to have close by - lots of restaurants but about 20-25 mins walk to the walled city.

All other pics except for the "high rise" one are accurate - there are 3 floors (no escalators) with basic room. Room size wasn't too bad; mattress was thin; TV remote did not work; AC worked except at night when it stalled and woke up by the warmth several times and then you had to press the remote to resume it; front door banged right up to the wall and bathroom door banged against the toilet (just need to be very gentle with doors); view was not even a view of anything useful; some units still had keys vs card. Staff at reception did their job by checking me in but lacked proactivity - had to ask separately about WIFI, desayuno (breakfast) times and safety deposit box reset instructions.

Seriously, remove the high rise pic and stop misleading...

The place was nasty and disgusting, I have to wait 24 hours for them to give me towels for the room I could not shower become I was waiting for them. It never came until the fallowing day and when I ask at reception the told me there are waiting on the linen truck. The breakfast area is all a mess the table need clean they area need a good maintenance. There was fly over the coffe cups and fruits. They was also cockroaches walking the area need to be clean broken and slit coffe cups and plate silverware is nasty coffe station nasty entire building is nasty disgusting. I will never recommend this place ever, and they price is not sheep. The picture they using for advertising is wrong the building is old the room are basic need cleaning. The common area is just dirty as the breakfast the lobby area and chairs are all dirty. They really need to invest in cleaning the property is just nasty and disgusting. After wandering Bocagrande for a while looking for a place to eat, and finding many overpriced places, and places where the AC wasn't working, we found this restaurant. Seating is outside, inside in the hotel lobby, or in a courtyard. The menu contains a plethora of choices, with something for everyone. Entrees are between 18 and 35 mil, with seafood options in the 40 mil range. Service is very friendly and attentive. Our party of 4 had the baby beef, Cuban rice, arroz con pollo, and spaghetti.
