This place is receiving 2 stars because the room was spacious and I had a good check-in experience. After checkin everything went downhill. I visited the first week of of Feb 2024. First off, very loud music is played until 1am at nearby establishments. I didnt have one peaceful night of rest. Of course not the hotels fault but an FYI. Problems at the hotel: clean looking but harsh smelly towels and linens. I put DND on my door and still came back to the room to see that someone was there. Television and phone did not work. Someone attempted to fix the TV but phones do not work at the hotel. Breakfast was a disaster. I got there at 9am and waited 35+ minutes for an omelet. The cook was making just 1 at a time. I was disappointed that food was not replenished during the last hour. Absolutely ridiculous. Everyone was standing around confused waiting for food and it never came out. I made a fuss about it and a server did bring me a plate of chicken and old peppers at about 1015. Drinks were watery and the coffee was cold. There was no replenishment of bread or other items during the last hour. Also, things that were supposed to be cold, were not on ice. Everything was warm. I did notice that paying customers to the restaurant received fresh items and service, quickly. This is a decent location, lots of food and shop options near by. I would not stay here again. Oh and the elevator does not work so they put most of the guests on the 2nd floor (it seems). Oh and WiFi does not work in the rooms. If you plan to work remotely, it won't happen...
Read moreSome of the staff were amazing and very helpful and friendly, understanding of my lack in Spanish, but some of the staff i found to be very ignorant… they tried to put me in a very small room with a very small uncomfortable bed when i had paid for a room with a king sized bed and i don’t believe this to be accidental… the food in the restaurant takes forever to get to the table but when it does it’s amazing the cooks are great but some of the servers will make it an unpleasant experience I literally walked behind the bar to pour my own drinks and coffee more then once as my server was busy doing something on her laptop for at least half an hour after id ordered the drink avoiding eye contact at all costs.. this resulted in me no longer wanting to eat there as breakfast was an unpleasant hour and a half experience just to get my food and eat it in 20 minutes… the building is beautiful although it has some common continuous issues the elevator doesn’t work often the hot water does not work often but my understanding is that in this part of South America these are common issues everywhere. I would likely try a different hotel next time but all in all it was not my worst hotel experience and the building itself was...
Read moreGood points, location OK, Front desk and Door Staff super! Well done team. Pool was nice, cold AC price at time of booking (around 50GPB) is a good price point. It seems that I am writing more critical reviews these days rather than positive. However, the service industry just isn't listening to its customers and that is a worldwide problem! Maddison Boutique - Bad points, asked for a quiet room, got one overlooking reception, noisy. Cleaners also very noisy with the 2 way radios turned up to full volume. NO easily reachable power points in the room, no bin. Lift has been out of action forever by the sound of it. The worst point. BREAKFAST - Terrible. You have 5 staff serving 10 guests and you are waiting and waiting for your Coffee to be served? Why? Choice limited, portions small. My omelette was the most laughable thing I have ever seen. I wish I took a photo. If you dare ask for something you will be looked at like a petulant child. I won't be back to this place...
