Sr Miyagi — Restaurant in Cartagena

Unfortunately the nice interior decor is just a Band-Aid for the fact that this was one of the worst food experiences my group and I have ever encountered. The staff (including the manager who was blasting rap music from his laptop a the table next to us) was totally lost, rude and didn't seem to care that our whole order was never even put in nor resolved after letting them know we had been waiting over an hour and never checked on (with a total of 6 people in the entire restaurant). Our group is well traveled (along with an actual sushi chef) so normally we give the benefit of the doubt when food is not up to par because staff is still kind and accommodating but when the food arrived an hour and a half later it looked like they just dumped a bucket of sauce all over the "fresh" fish to cover their mistakes and lack of technique and flavor. The taste combo was bad enough to not even finish half the meal and gave half our group diarrhea for the next three days. If I could give less stars I would, DO NOT...

The food was good. The service was a bit too much for me. Giving me plenty of recommendations and coming back several times to suggest me plates while I was looking at the menu for intance. Also the waiter was asking if I like the food at the second I put it in my mouth before I even taste it properly, asking for each thing I ordered if I liked or not to approve his recommendations (if not almost that he chosed it on my behalf) ... It was nice but for me a bit too much, would be better to ask if the client want recommandations and let him decides or ask if he/she has questions. Also not required to ask if the client likes the food too many times. Despite this exaggerated service, for sure done with good intentions, the food was good so I still provide a 4 stars.

For the price: A fruit juice, a starter of salmon and rolls cost me about COP 100.000...

The selection here is limited compared to north american sushi places but i can saw that what they do, they do it well. The ingredients are fresh and portions are generous in size. The extreme spicey roll was delicious. I recommend this place if your looking to change it up a bit, they also offer some very delicious fish dishes and rice dishes which ill have to try at a later time.
