Juan Valdez Café La Mansión — Restaurant in Cartagena

I have been having the most wonderful time here in Cartagena and decided to try this coffee shop since the coffee everywhere else have been underwhelming. I ordered the medium Americano and asked for milk. They added the mild as a separate item. I get that different countries make their coffee differently and so I had already read about how they make their coffee. However, the coffee served to me was still black. I like my coffee creamy. The staff were very hospitable with one particular lady translating. I went back to ask for more milk and obviously that was something the staff needed to escalate. A hot-headed lady, without even trying to understand what the customer issue was, started yelling, "this is our culture". I took out my phone and started viewing because I was very surprised at the unnecessary behavior of a person in obviously a higher position. I have used so many services here and ordered coffee elsewhere and everyone else were accommodating and those people were ordinary locals. I am disappointed that an establishment of this magnitude would not train there staff on cultural sensitization. I also left my hat and realized two minutes afterwards. I can say that it is the best coffee chain in Colombia. I tried coffee for the first time in Bogota, and now I tried it in Cartagene. The first time I tried a Cortado, I didn't like it very much, but later I drank an Americano and liked it. Now I tried ice latte and ice Americano, they are very good! Better than Starbucks. The location and atmosphere of the place are already very pleasant... I liked it very much. If I knew, they would give me the rights, I could buy the rights for my own...

Extremely hot here despite an AC unit. They even turned off the fans while we were sitting there. Don't go here if you want to work or have a meeting. The baristas yell at each other from opposite sides of the cafe as well as when standing right next to each other. NOT CONDUCIVE TO WORKING. The drink was good and pastry was fresh. Not a bad place to get coffee to go except during lunch time when...
