Guatila, Cocina Colombiana De Autor — Restaurant in Cartagena

My experience was so so far from the reviews I’m reading. Portions are very small about half the size of every other restaurant I’ve visited in Cartegena. Soup dishes took 20 minutes and were lukewarm. Neither one were very tasty. My wife and sister enjoyed their entrées although they complained of the portions even though they’re light eaters. My dish was terrible, it was basically a dry roast beef with no seasoning and an awful sweet glaze. I had two bites and pushed it to the side. I went on to order the same thing my five-year-old son was eating white rice and chicken which was delicious. They could see I didn’t like my food but they never bothered asking me how It was because clearly they didn’t wanna offer me anything else. I guess they just figured I’m a tourist who will never be back so they don’t care about making me happy. I understand taste buds vary person to person and I would never leave a two star review simply because of the flavor of a dish but it’s the complete lack of caring that did it for me. I came here as part of a group outing, and the service, food, location, and prices were great! This restaurant is good for groups and couples. Guatila has a very nice feel with wooden tables. The servers are very sweet and informative when asked about certain menu items. The fish of the day was corvina and it was a little overcooked but the sauce was amazing. The coconut rice and patacon(toston) was delicious.
