We stayed at the Stil for four nights and then returned for a further night after a 2 night visit to Playa Blanca. The hotel/rooms were by no means luxurious but provided sufficient comfort for sleeping and it was in a good location for seeing the city. Our first room was on the 10th floor (small supplement paid at time of booking for this) and it was spacious with two separate beds, air conditioning, flat screen tv and working wifi. The signal wasn't the best but was ok for checking messages etc. As previous reviews state, there is no hot water but we knew this before booking and decided this wouldn't be an issue for us. Actually even if we had hot water we probably wouldn't have used it as the cool showers were perfect. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles as things kept running out and were not replaced and the lady checking off the room numbers at the entranxce looked like she was being held there as a hostage not cracking a smile for 4 days. In general the reception staff seemed ok and were more than happy to keep our luggage secure for 2 days whilst we took a short break to Playa Blanca. When we came back for 1 night, we were given a room on the 9th floor pretty identical to the previous room but with a nicer...
Read moreFirst off, the front desk staff are good. And they speak English. The breakfast for Colombia was decent sized buffet. After that, all down hill. There is not enough money for me to justify taking cold showers. The room was reasonably clean, but there was small litter outside my door when I checked in, and when I left after 3 nights, it was still there. The hotel is right in front of a small square where taxis park. The windows have large gaps, and don’t close properly. You hear every peddler, every taxi, every horn. Plus the place is home to several pigeons that sit outside your window. So loud. Lastly, I had a open bottle of rum on top of my fridge. When maid cleaned room, she took or threw it out. Hotel did...
Read moreAn adequate price/quality ratio, a good breakfast and nice service. The room is basic but clean. There is no hot water but all water is warm here anyway. The only disadvantage is that you can't take a contrast shower. The receptionist was very welcoming and spoke good English. The check-in went swiftly. An English-speaking porter took our case up to the room and explained everything about the key and other things quite clearly. The beds were a bit harder than expected but proved very comfortable. We are really enjoying our stay in the place so far. We are here for five more days. Wanna see as much as we can in and around...
