We chose this hotel based on other reviews we had seen, and are so happy that we did. This is a small boutique hotel, with only 6 rooms. We had one, and we had other family members that stayed in two others; it could not work out more perfectly for a group, as they treat you like family here, and it has a lovely gathering space on the second floor, as well as a rooftop area where you can all get together. The staff, especially Raphael, was so welcoming and accommodating. There is no elevator, but unless you have real mobility issues this wouldn't be a problem, as they deal with your luggage. Speaking of luggage, one small item that I find lacking in even the luxury chains is simply having luggage racks! We were pleasantly surprised that they provided two of them. The rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The whole place is kept impeccably clean; not just the rooms, but everywhere was always super clean. There is a small pool on the third level; which we made use of. Very nice. There is a hot breakfast included, served in a really cute cafe attached to the hotel. Rooms are equipped with mini-fridges, and the cafe stocks soft drinks as well as beer and wine, which is convenient. The stocked fridge items are not the usual rip-off; they are priced very fairly. If you want ice, they are quick to provide a bucketful. The location is convenient; you can easily walk to many restaurant options nearby, or wander over to the walled city. Getsemani itself is a cute place with lots of character. If you want a taxi or Uber, they are available all the time (and absurdly cheap). We had just spent four days at the Waldorf in Panama City, and were thinking that this might be a let-down after that, but actually, we were just as pleased with this one. Highly recommend the junior suite with...
Read moreBy far my new favorite place. We stayed from the 8th to the 12th of June and had an incredible experience. Traveled with a group of 12 friends and rented every room in the hotel. Although there were many of us, the staff treated us like we were part of their family with zero issues. Adrian, Sandra, Anderson were all fabulous. Ana (owner) always had a smile on her face when we was at the hotel and you can tell she loved hosting which made us feel right at home. Our girl Emily (cafe barista) was amazing! We formed a friendship with her which was incredible. She became part of our little group by the end of the trip because we just absolutely loved her Energy and how professional she handled herself and represented the business. It's small businesses like these that make you appreciate Colombia as well as the amazing locals we met on this trip. The hotel was no more than a fifteen minute walk to both the City Center, as well as the Castillo and the mall. But always bring a water bottle if you plan to walk because it gets out out there! There is always a party in Cartagena if you're into the nightlife like we are, but if you prefer a more relaxing vaca, there are tons of things to do to suit any traveler's preference. Thank you, Lunala I hope to see...
Read moreI recently had an amazing experience with a receptionist at the Lunalá Hotel Boutique in Cartagena and I wanted to share my story.
While visiting the old town, I had accidentally left my wallet at the conventions center parking. Fortunately, Andrés, the receptionist at Lunalá, found my wallet while waiting for his shift to begin.
Even though I wasn't a guest or client at the hotel, Andrés went out of his way to contact me and let me know that he had found my wallet. I was truly touched by his honesty and kindness, and it reflects the high moral values and exceptional service provided by this hotel.
Andrés is an outstanding employee who truly goes above and beyond to provide quality service to customers. I highly recommend Lunalá Hotel Boutique to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Cartagena, It has an excellent location and I am sure that Andrés and his colleagues will provide the same level of exceptional service to all guests.
Thank you, Andrés, for your honesty and kindness. You not only returned my lost wallet but also made me remember that there are still good people out there who are willing to help others in need.
I will definitely be staying at Lunalá Hotel...
