had a really good time in this hostel! the staff are lovely and helpful, I had an issue checking in because I accidentally only booked 1 bed instead of 2 but they helped me sort it out quickly. It’s very clean and has a nice small pool. There’s free breakfast, a nice common area and there’s a cat! There is also a good soap and shampoo in the bathrooms which is very appreciated. They do have some nice activities like salsa class although it didn’t seem like a very social hostel which was perfect for what we needed at the time. The only thing to note is that the doors don’t lock so id suggest bringing a lock to store some of your more valuable stuff in the lockers inside the room and the rooms are just next to a busy road where party buses go past all the time until about 11pm so bring earplugs. Also, the area can be a bit sketchy at night but safe with basic precautions. Overall—I’d definitely stay again!

The worst part was how dirty it was. I'm not sure who is in charge of cleaning, but they were doing the absolute bare minimum. The girls bathroom was full of hair at all times. On the last day, there was a dead cockroach in the room and the cleaner didn't bother with taking it out as she walked by it. The dorm was never cleaned. I saw the same clump of hair stay in the same place the entire 4 days I was there. On top of that, the rooms are next to the street and you can hear absolutely everything. The bunks are NOT sound proof, like at all. And for a social hostel, they have nothing happening there and it’s not very welcoming. It truly seems like the establishment is run by a bunch of teenagers. I cannot stress enough how I would never go back there even if I were paid to do so. I could not leave fast enough.

BEDBUGS / CHINCHES As soon as I checked in I inspected my mattress and found EXTREMELY clear indications of an infestation (including bugs themselves). I received a refund but no other guests were informed. It was extremely obvious to me that no one at the hostel had given any attention to pests whatsoever, as it took me less than 30 seconds of attention to find a bug. PLEASE review your mattress before you touch anything.

Hostel Cons: the hostel shuttle driver is a scammer, too hot/humid not to have a freezer to keep ice (workers have ice not guests) and a refrigerator that actually cool (2 would be ideal), need run the A/C continously (not everyone will sleep at night on a vacation), the bar is poorly managed & guest tabs are incorrectly and poorly managed, no way to warm food or cook food-knives are locked, an electric kettle and toaster would be great, no basic/seasoning or condiments, no towels given or offered as advertised, need covering for outdoor patio to protect from falling coconuts, rain etc, only place to hangout/socialize, 2 tvs & nothing playing on them, small sitting pool needs a covering bc its hot & not refreshing, hostel is not soundproof like advertised, 1 refrigerator shared by workers & guests, cant bring your own alcohol of personal liking, no prices for drinks, breakfast, & activities offered posted, no effective mosquitoes treatment for the only place to sit & socialize, inadequate COP for making change when needed, no fluent English speakers but many English guests...

Hostel Pros: couples are welcome to share a sleeping pod, hostel has a WhatsApp #, privacy blinds, plenty of staff, friendly and hard working, clean overall, WiFi is excellent, daily activities for fee, ping pong table & games, workstation table, good music, has a bar & happy hour (inflated prices), small sitting pool, offer breakfast for a fee, multiple toilets/showers, sizable outside sink, cool outdoor vibe, plenty electrical outlets & lighting, offer fruit/mint water...

BEST HOSTAL IN COLOMBIA! Friendly, nice staff, nice people, clean space, and a GREAT place to work/ relax amidst the intensity of cartegena. FAST WIFI TOO! The best I’ve had in Colombia (went to 6 cities). The location is spectualar! Part of the wall is right across the street from the hostel and it’s a great spot to hangout and do a workout in the evening. Based on what I saw at other hostels and what I heard from others this is probably the nicest hostel in Cartegena. The owner was there checking on things almost everyday and the staff were really helpful, kind, and personable. There was a wide range of ages from 20 to 30 years old.

I had a two nights stay with my boyfriend at Santuario Hostel. The location was great, close to the centro area, a lot of restaurants nearby and also close to La Serezuella mall. The common area of Satuario hostel was good too and clean. We booked a double bed in a dormitory room. When we checked in, they told us that we have to move to a different bed tomorrow as another guest is going to take our bed (which will stay up to 6 nights). We didnt really understand the reason why they asked us to move bed instead of just to give the other bed to the new guest. After that, we went to the room which was smelly (i think from the bathroom). Moreover, the room has a big door that opens towards the street (they closed it and used it as a wall) which makes a loud noises of cars from the street outside. We went to shower and there was no warm water at all. The AC was only operated from 7 pm - 9 am which makes it really hot to stay in the room during daylight. For us, sometimes in the middle of the night, the room temperature was really warm. We moved to the new bed the next day, and no one took the previous bed. So we moved for nothing. Despite all of the comments I wrote, the staff was really nice and everyone was just helping (it was hard because of the language barrier but all other than...
