This was our first cooking class as a family, and it was such a special experience! We’ve traveled to many places but never tried a cooking class until now. My husband booked this class a few months ago, and we feel truly blessed to have been taught by Chef Maria. She’s an incredibly confident and knowledgeable chef who knows exactly how to include everyone and make the experience enjoyable. Her teaching style helped our kids feel confident and excited about cooking. The space was spotless, warm, and very welcoming. Chef Maria’s co-chef, Sophia, was also amazing—kind, generous, and extremely helpful. Our daughter hasn’t stopped talking about how supportive Sophia was during the class. As vegetarians, we were especially grateful for the thoughtful accommodations made for us. We felt completely comfortable and included in every part of the meal preparation. On top of learning delicious recipes, we also got to learn about the rich history of Cartagena and Chef Maria’s own story. This was one of our favorite activities, and we highly recommend it for couples or families looking for a meaningful and fun experiences.

We saw this sign posted outside advertising happy hour from 4-8. We went in to ask in Spanish what happy hour meant and our waiter told us that it meant 2 for 1. We asked if it was for tapas and the drinks and he told us that it was. We order 3 sets of two tapas and some drinks. When he came with the check, he charged us full for all the tapas. We informed him that he told us that the check should only charge us one order for each tapa. He said he was only referring to drinks and that we had to pay full price for all. We then noted that our drinks were later for 18 mil, but he charged us 20 mil. I told him that 2 for 1 would mean 18 not 20 mil. He told us that 2 drinks would be 36 mil but happy hour meant 20 mil. After telling us that he implied drinks only in his happy hour explication he then told us that 2 for 1 when it comes to the check means something completely different as well.

Lunático is an amazing place for delicious and reasonably priced food. Their menu offers some Colombian favorites with an elevated twist. Food: Must try the ceviches, brunch menu, and their Colombian artisanal beers. Service: Impeccable! Our severs Jorge and Sandra were so helpful and warm, a true representation of Costeño hospitality. Services/Tours: They offer an artisanal beer tasting which includes a ceviche. The experience was not only fun but informative! The owner offered the tasting himself and even shared a beer with us after. We ended the night with a salsa class with Kevin, a professional dancer from Cartagena (for an additional fee, but well worth it). The view of San Felipe is incredible and really adds to the experience. They even have live music for brunch! If you can, try the market tour and cooking class with the owner.

Honestly just learn what hospitality is. I paid $150 to enjoy the rum and chocolate experience and my partner doesn’t drink but she came too expecting to be allowed at least in the same room. They didn’t even let her be in the same room and she had to sit in the restaurant alone for two hours. I tried to get a refund but apparently they don’t do those 🙄 She sat in the restaurant and they ignored her for two hours while I did the experience. I had a great time but where was the service for her? Honestly just learn what real hospitality is because you clearly don’t know.

RESPONSE TO OWNER) Your staff could have refunded me the cost of the experience and we could have left and forgotten this happened. We didn’t realise she wouldn’t even be allowed in the same room, but by that point we had paid the money. Instead I felt forced to do the tasting and watch from a distance as your staff totally ignored my partner for two hours. I said learn some hospitality because your staff made no effort to make my partner comfortable during what was a totally awkward experience. She finally received a water after a new member of staff started his shift and went to check on her five minutes before the experience ended. She was literally crying when we...

We ate here this evening after reading some glowing reviews. The welcome was warm and the service was good.

Sadly the food and drinks were very poor - the three of us had a cocktail, and all were very disappointing, watery and flavourless.

The food was worse! The restaurant provided the ‘house bread’ as a freebie before the meal but it was stale - why would they do that?! We each had a different main course - a paella-type dish, a veggie burger and civiche. All three were terrible.

The restaurant was running a cookery class in the adjoining room so maybe the regular cook was in there? Who knows, but this was an awful meal despite being the most expensive so far after three weeks in Columbia.

I’ve given a second star simply because the waiter was helpful and friendly - if this was a food / drinks review only, I’d have been justified giving zero stars tbh. Shame really.

15th Feb - thanks for the spelling lesson! I’ll try harder when using my tiny phone keyboard next time. Maybe you guys can try harder with the...
