I generally try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt when my customer/client experience is suboptimal, and I have never been moved to write a review (about anything) before now. However, my recent stay at the Diez Hotel was just too ridiculous not to share. The bottom line is: stay anywhere else! I had a fabulous experience at Estelar Blue (also in Poblado) if you're looking for a nice calm place with pristine rooms and great food.
When I arrived at Diez, I checked in and went to my first room. I walked into to find the bed not made. I called the front desk and said I'd be happy to wait for someone to come make up the room, but they said to come down and switch rooms. Ok, so I went and got a new key to a new room. My second room did not have working overhead lights. I called the front desk again (they were very nice about everything), and they said to come down again and get a new key again. Ok, so on my third trip to the front desk with all my stuff in tow, someone finally offered to help me with my bags, great. I got to my third room, complete with working lights and freshly made bed, hooray!
After settling in, I noticed that the toilet paper holder and towel rack in the bathroom were very loose, wobbling and starting to unscrew from the walls. I was hearing lots of noise from the hallway and realized it was because there was a gap in between the wall and the doorframe (I could see through to the hallway from my room), so even though the door locked, the entire door/frame was loose = not secure.
The next morning, I felt great and headed to breakfast. The food didn't seem like it was sitting quite right, so I only ate half and went back upstairs to lie down because I suddenly was not feeling well. About a half hour later, I became very ill (vomited multiple times, totally gross, sorry for the graphic detail). I felt better as the day went on and was back to normal by the evening.
And if all that wasn't enough, there was NO hot water in the sink or the shower at any point during my 2-night stay! This hotel is decorated well and looks fantastic at first glance, but if you look under the hood, the place appears to be falling apart at the seams. It was incredibly disorganized and is not in any way a...
Read moreBooked a week but then decided to change the stay for 4 days only and that was the best thing l could do. ||The good:||1. Friendly staff|2. Great beds and pillows |3. Great shower and hot water|4. Cmfortable room|5. Not noisy from the street|6. Good views|7. Great lobby and roof top||The bad, THE REALLY BAD......||1. The AC DOES NOT WORK, not only mine but 6 more rooms from the group l was traveling with. I worked in hotels and this hotel use "chillers" which is AC cooled by cold water and l'm pretty sure is not strong enough when the hotel is full.|2. They gave me another room to spend my first night due to maitenance couldn't fix my AC that night and guess what?? The AC in the other room did not worked either. I found out that the AC in the new room didn't worked at 5am when l came from partying to sleep. |3. Got woken up at 7:45am by a lady to pick up my laundry to be ironed. Then, at 9am, the maitenance guy knocked hard and woke me up to fix the AC on the room they gave me for my first night instead of my actual room which it was empty ready to be serviced. Did l mentioned l came back ar 5am the night before? Yes. |4. The toilet did not work upon check in.|5. The sheets were stained, l asked the housekeeper to change it on the second day and the new ones were stained as well.|6. I sent a shirt and a pant to be ironed and the shirt came back with wrinkles, ironed but with wrinkles. |7. Ordered room service, took over 40 minutes and the food was ice cold with rock hard fries. |8. They only leave 2 bath towels doesn't matter how many people are actually staying in the room. |9. My partner paid for the laundry as per the delivery guy request and when l checked out they also included the charge on my bill. |10. I left a credit card for incidentals the day before check in since l was staying somewhere else. When l ordered room service on my last night, they wanted me to pay the food right away upon delivery since "l didn't have a credit card on file". When l went down to front desk, the night auditor admitted he shredded the copy of my credit card and they didnt put it in the system so the system so they had nothing on my reservation. ||A nice hotel with good potential, hopefully the General Manager or Owner care enough to...

Staying at Diez Hotel Categoría Colombia in Medellín was an unforgettable experience that perfectly combined comfort, culture, and top-tier service. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help with anything I needed, which made me feel right at home throughout my stay.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, reflecting the richness of Colombian heritage with locally inspired artwork and design elements. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I loved waking up to stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. Every detail—from the high-quality linens to the well-appointed bathrooms—showed a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
The hotel’s location in El Poblado is ideal. It’s one of Medellín’s most vibrant and safe neighborhoods, filled with great restaurants, cafes, shopping, and nightlife—all within walking distance. Despite being close to everything, the hotel itself feels like a quiet retreat.
One of the highlights was the restaurant, which specializes in typical Colombian cuisine. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, featuring local favorites like arepas, empanadas, calentado, tropical fruits, and freshly squeezed juices. It was a delicious and authentic way to start each day.
Diez Hotel offers a perfect blend of culture, comfort, and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone...
