Burdo — Restaurant in Medellín

2 stars total for great music and edible food. We had two odd experiences which leaves me to make the decision to not visit this restaurant again or recommend it.

First odd experience: At the end of our dinner when we asked for the check, our full total was 176.000. The food was 160.000 but there was a 16.000 charge of “propina” (gratuity) included; therefore leaving the total at 176.000. When paying with card our waiter asked if we would like to add a tip. My friend told him she saw it was already included on the receipt (which he had taken away at this point to not get caught in his lie). He said no it wasn’t. ??? Seriously!! Clearly he didn’t think we analyzed it and thought that since we had a bottle of wine we must be drunk and stupid. Jokes on him since we realized what he was trying to do!

Second odd experience: we had 4 slices of pizza left over and had it boxed up so me and my friend could split it for lunch the next day. Well today came and when I opened the box.. there was only 3 pieces of pizza! Sooooo somebody decided to sneak a piece, thinking we would also not know!

This whole experience at Burdo left me uneasy. If he was willing to lie to get a bigger tip and eat some of our leftovers, I’m not sure what else they are doing...

This was by far one of the most pothetic food service I have ever received for the rating they have. I will give them this, they know how to plate food very beautifully. But the food taste was very average. I started with some sort of pork and cheese deep fried roll, the cheese was not melted and the meat was ice cold in it. So I sent it back and they didn't remake it the put it in the oven or microwave and brought it back out. Then my burger shows up, guess what, the center of my burger was raw and cold, so I sent that back. Once again they didn't remake it they reheated it. They brought the burger back the second time, the meat was still raw, so I didn't eat it. My girlfriend ordered a chocolate cake thing to go. When we got home, she opened the box and it was a cookie not chocolate cake. And I bet you will never guess, the cookie was raw all the way through. I don't know if I came on the cooks first day but this was horrible. I don't know why it is ranked so high unless people don't have palettes and they think the food looks beautiful so it must be good. The thing's I was able to eat were average at best. Do yourself a favor and avoid...

0/10 recommend. My food was cold after waiting 30 minutes for it to arrive. The others I went to eat with also noticed their food wasn’t hot or at least warm. My friend didn’t like her margarita pizza; it was cold, the pizza was soggy from so much balsamic dressing and the dressing was unusually sweet, so she sent it back with hopes that the balsamic dressing would simply be removed with a new pizza. She was told they can remake the pizza, but she’d have to pay for the new pizza PLUS the pizza she sent back that she didn’t like. Our host took her pizza back, brought out a “new” one, but this pizza was the old one just reheated. He went back and forth with us until we requested a manager who let us know she’d pay for the one new pizza they’re remaking and NOT the old one like our host originally told us.

After 20 minutes, a new pizza was brought but this time it was pepperoni and cheese… not the margarita pizza like she expected and made to pay for. They don’t listen and do what they want to do....
