We really wanted to like this restaurant but unfortunately they let us down completely. We waited for about 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us while we sat. The restaurant was empty with only one other table. When our food arrives, i got the wrong dish so my husband had to eat in his own while I waited for them to make mine. Then I ate alone as he was done by the time I got mine. The fried rice was good. The ramen was ok. Too small of a portion. The Kani appetizer was probably our favorite of the 3…after they made the mistake with our food the severs never came back. They tended to another table of Americans just across from us very attentively. We’re also American but I speak the language and we do this out of curiosity to locals, apparently this backfired on us as they just ignored us. We asked for the bill 3X and then a fourth from a different employee, no one came. We got up and went to the bar to pay. About 5 members of staff just started at us and wouldn’t help. Finally someone helped and had the nerve to ask if we were leaving a tip. We did but told them they didn’t treat us well nor did they get our order correct, nor did they apologize for anything. So needless to say we would not return or recommend this restaurant. There’s so many places that treat you well, have excellent service, and excellent food. This isn’t it.

Dropped into Yacky Chan while in Medellín, right on the bustling Provenza strip. The place is popular with locals and tourists alike, and it’s easy to see why — cool concept, eye-catching design, and upbeat vibes. They serve a Japanese-inspired menu with Colombian flair. The food? Decent. Flavours were okay, though a little on the salty side (a recurring theme in Colombia). It’s less “authentic Japanese” and more of a local fusion take — not bad, just don’t expect Tokyo-style precision. The dessert was actually a highlight. Service was on the slower side but still friendly and professional. The ambience carries the place — fun, stylish, and clearly built to draw a crowd. Prices are on the higher side for what you get, but to be fair, that’s pretty typical for places on Provenza — you’re also paying for the location, the vibe, and the fact that they essentially rent the street. Worth a try if you’re in the area and looking for something different. I’d probably come back to see how the menu evolves.

While walking around decided to enter this venue due to the funkyness of the show with Chinese dragon and fireworks 🎇. We were seated immediately by a kind host. Ms. Geraldine was sort of out waitress, I asked her to suggest dishes for me since they only have a menu trough QR code which I can't stand. Everyone looking at their telephones instead of conversing. She recommended few appetizers and drinks. It all went well until the main course. It took forever and no one came to say anything. imagine now for payment. Another half hour. They have the right attitude but are extremely disorganized. They need waiter manager or coordinator. Some Mexican tourists sat down next to us and after 10 minutes of seating they left since no one talked to them after the kind hostess sat them down. Do not order the exotic drink served in a bath 🛁 tub. Photo below, it basically ice cubes and rose petals in the tub. Not much to drink off.

Service was way too slow. Our food took over an hour and the drinks took 20 mins. We didn’t even have plates by the time they brought all our food. We ordered the octopus, white fish ceviche and baos…. The octopus was tough, the ceviche had too much sauce, the baos were not soft and fell apart, and everything was cold. There were other tables that were seated after us but served food and plates right away… we aren’t sure if it’s because we are foreigners that the service was so terrible. I think there are a lot of good reviews because there isn’t a lot of authentic Asian food in Medellin/not many Asians live here, but if you’re of Asian descent (I’m Chinese), this food is definitely not going to meet your standards, even for ‘fusion’

They didn’t even try to rectify the situation. We had to ask them to take tip off because the service was so slow. Vibes are nice though, I’ll give it that. And after we paid, the manager did try to help but didn’t provide a solution that met our needs (he wanted us to come back… obviously we would not given our limited time in Medellin and the...

DON'T GO HERE!! Uncooked chicken leading to food poisoning. We sent back the meal and showed the uncooked pink chicken pieces to the waiter. We complained as we had already eaten a couple of uncooked chicken pieces before realising the texture was off. We asked for it again but without chicken and complained saying we are not paying for that dish since it's against health regulations. Then afterwards they tried to charge us in full for that dish with the uncooked chicken and when we disagreed threatened to get the police involved. They brought over the resturant security and threatened us saying we can't leave until we pay in full for the meal that gave us food poisoning.

We have been travelling for 2 years and this is the WORST resturant and customer service I have ever experienced. A street vendor knows how to cook better than Yacky Chan. Don't waste your money on this resturant. It's a tourist trap, overpriced undercooked food that then threatened you with the police when it's below...
