Energy Living — Hotel in Medellín

I booked a five night stay here through Airbnb (apartment 403) and towards the end, it became really unsafe. To start, the place wasn’t cleaned properly and was extremely poorly maintained. The walls had scuff marks all over them, the shower had hair, couches were stained, and the silverware in the drawers were dirty. The building is extremely loud at all hours of the night, and on the first night, someone was outside of our door, jiggling the handle. The second and third nights, the lights went out, people were loud in the hallways, and you can barely sleep. The morning of my last night there, someone used a key to enter the apartment without my permission, while we were in the apartment. Luckily, I had a door stopper under the door, but he did not knock at all, and I screamed stopped to get him from entering. I reached out to front desk security, no response. I reached out to my airbnb host, and was told that it was maintenance, and they mistakenly tried to do an “inspection” while the unit was occupied. This is absolutely ridiculous, and unsafe. I contacted Airbnb to cancel my last night, and the reservation, and let the host know this was unacceptable. It’s also unacceptable that security did not and still has not responded to my message on WhatsApp. They care more about you having snacks at the pool and regulating your every move than your safety within your unit. There is no reason anyone should have been able to try and enter the apartment with a key. Just a poor experience. I’m so glad Airbnb paid for me to go...

Had a terrible experience at this building. The location is nice but the service is horrible. From late check-ins, to wifi instability, there was no real service to help resolve your issues. Check-in is supposed to be at 3PM but usually they make you wait because property management isn't proactive to ensure cleaning is done in a timely fashion. The front desk can't speak English or resolve issues. They pretty much are at the mercy of the Property Managers. I stayed in 1303. My property manager's name is Susana. She was the absolute worst. She doesn't communicate in a timely fashion and pretty much rejected any request that was made. She's the main reason i had to wait 1 hour to check-in. It took her over 6 hours to send someone to address the wifi-issues which was ridiculous. Apartment furniture they used was the same as the patio furniture people buy for outdoors. There are no AC's or heaters in the apartment and that's not good because the temperature varies from hot to cold during teh day. Additionally she will try to sell other services like private drivers or tours in the city. I do not recommend this building. There are many better options...

The Good: One of the best views of the city you can find. Each bedroom in our unit (3 bedrooms) had a fabulous view of the city. The common area had the same wonderful view. Each room is large and has its own bathroom. Building is very secure and room doors are very secure. Close walking distance to a grocery store. Washer/Dryer, wine cooler, coffee maker, microwave, large fridge, all the things you want/need. Nice pool on top of building and workout equipment.|The Bad: Unit is a little worn and needs a little maintenance. Think Ikea furniture that is a few years old. Needs more kitchen towels and bath towels.|Special Note: This building is not family friendly. Meaning you will share the lobby and elevators with other customers that hire women for entertainment. Each day we had a new experience with ladies waiting outside the building with their "employer" or being "signed in" at the security desk with their customer or awkwardly sharing an elevator with a lady and her customer.
