San Carbón — Restaurant in Medellín

Great attentive service. The place was busy but we were still welcomed and seated quickly. They have a grand space and the night we went they had a band with three singers. Excellent live entertainment. The passion fruit shrimp ceviche was super tasty and refreshing. Well flavored but no hot spices. The San Carbon "Barbecue" plate, sorry I can't recall it's Spanish name, had so much food. Lots of chicken, steak, and chorizo. All tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. My partner and thankfully split one. We also added beans, which were outstanding as well. The waiter was the perfect amount of attentive. There is a lower covered porch off of the great room. We were seated there and it was most perfect. We were having a date night so it was nice to be at the back of the room to easily talk with each while still being able to enjoy the live music and be a part of it all. Well priced plates! We were very exited to enjoy a good steak but unfortunately it was a terrible experience that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone if you are trying to enjoy a good stk ! they didn’t bring some of the orders “forgot they said” & the steak was too fat too thick not cooked at all sent it back to cook more then brought it uncooked again then we had to send it back in pieces hopefully it will come back good but nope 👎 no luck so I ended up not eating it and left it there and wanted to charge us extra for something we didn’t drink...manager rude doesn’t speak English only a young employee in the kitchen maybe does...long story short not a good place to eat steak not the quality you will be expecting to have don’t be fooled by the pictures like what happened to us ! Tonight we visited San Carbon and receive bad treatment. This restaurant serves under cook chicken and we inform the server and the lady that process the credit card and did NOTHING about it. On top of that the lady that process the credit card charge us in US dollar adding a 3.5% extra without asking us When I received the bill to sign I refused and Ask her to cancel the transaction, the lady explain that their charge is lower that the credit Card. I respond the I have a international credit card without transaction frees. Finally the cancelled and charge our credit card in the local currency. Be very careful visiting this restaurant.
