Blux Apartamentos — Local services in Medellín

Do not book with any Casacol managed property in Medellin! It does not matter if it's Blux, Energy, Loma Verde, Soul, etc booked through Booking, Casacol or Airbnb. They are unable to manage their rental properties in an effective manner and then will blame you for booking a same day online reservation "last minute". ||||I was on a business trip and decided to extend my stay in Medellin. I used the Priceline app to book a same day reservation at 4:14pm Colombian standard time for an apartment in the Blux building. I did it while sitting in the front lobby of the building since I have stayed their previously and then questioned the security guard why my confirmation email said that I had booked a 1 night stay at the nearby Energy building. She gave me Manuela Gonzalez (whatsapp contact information). Initially Manuela did not want to answer any of my questions until I told her that I was already inside the Blux building. I have screenshot receipts in case anyone would like to see how unprofessional the conversation turned. ||||Fast forward to 4:45 pm Colombian time and a Casacol cleaning lady came downstairs and told me she was finishing up cleaning the apartment. I told her it wasn't necessary. My cell phone had 3% battery life left, I was vaccinated and I had worn a mask for 16 hours . All I wanted was to lay down and rest a couple of hours. She refused and called Manuela on her cell phone who told me that they needed 5 more minutes to clean the floor. ||||I told Manuela that this was unacceptable and I would no longer be needing their services. She then blamed me for being unreasonable and booking a last minute reservation and expecting it to be ready right away. That is what is expected on a Priceline / Booking reservation after 3:00pm on the same day I responded. ||||I walked out and headed straight to the Medellin Airport in Rionegro to catch the next flight back to the States. As soon as I arrived in Texas, I sent complaints to Priceline and Booking. Casacol COO Ana Sandoval responded but felt that Manuela did nothing wrong. Casacol properties should not be allowed to handle same day reservations on their apps and I will keep writing both travel companies.||||Stay away from Casacol managed properties, they are indeed clueless. I'm glad I went through this experience since I was contemplating using them to manage my rental...

My time spent in Medellin Colombia was amazing. The main reason I rented this particular apartment was for the view. The view from the terrace or for that matter from the entire apartment is incredible. For me, relaxing on the terrace was very therapeutic and serene. The apartment is exactly as Laura described with friendly personnel in the lobby. While the apartment is located in Poblado, the added bonus is that its located in a part of Poblado that is far away enough from the hustle and bustle & constant noise from the traffic but still very close to all the action. ||The guide Laura sent me in advance of my arrival to Medellin was very useful. I went to several places in the guide and enjoyed the unique cuisine they had to offer. This was my 2nd stay at Blux apartments (Casacol) and 2nd time that Property Manager Laura has hosted me. Once again, its been a fantastic and amazing stay. Everything was perfect. The rooms have awesome views, they are immaculate and meet above and beyond government health standards in terms of cleanliness. Blux has a beautiful pool and a very useful gym. Property Manager Laura is on point and never fails to deliver exceptional customer service. She responds quickly to any issues or concerns day or night. I’ve traveled all over the world and I must say that the quality of my stay as well as focus given to guests always delivered more than what I expected and most definitely the best.
