The Belmonte Penthouse — Local services in Medellín

I would give the Belmonte 4.95 out of 5 stars. The reason being that small things can get lost in translation between the owner, the concierge and the cleaners. This is no fault of anyone in particular. These things just happen when there are too many cooks in the kitchen. Additionally, the master suite has no door and provides ZERO privacy. This was a huge issue for me and my spouse. Especially being that I was the only woman in a house full of men. I think the simple addition of a curtain or something at the doorway will suffice. That being said. The concierge, Simon, is the Trump card.

Simon goes out of his way to rectify any issues immediately. He is a human encyclopedia and has any connections you need. The owner is very responsive and takes his role very seriously. The building is secured 24/7 and I would stay here again.

Lastly, I booked direct with the owner and saved a pretty penny. That being said, this was a point of confusion. Direct bookings receive more amenities than booking through Airbnb. I booked so far in advance that some of these amenities were not updated for the cleaners and concierge. Therefore confusion ensued. Just be sure to go over all conversations had with the owner when you check in with the concierge. This way nothing will slip through the cracks. If it does happen like in my case. My family really enjoyed our stay at the Penthouse. We have stayed in about 40 Airbnbs over our past 6 months of world travel and this was a favorite: beautiful design, great location, comfortable beds, great security, quality amenities. The home was well stocked, there were sufficient quantities of soaps,TP, towels, paper towels (which has not been the case for most places we’ve stayed), and the kitchen had everything necessary to prepare a full meal. Having breakfast prepared for us was a wonderful treat! The home has laundry facilities on site, but it isn’t accessible to guests. It was very kind to have a load of laundry done for us, but as a traveling family with lots of laundry having our own access to the washer would’ve been more convenient. We also really love places that have games on site - chess, poker, etc. but I’m not sure that families are the target market for this home so it’s understandable that those aren’t available. The host provides wonderful recommendations and will happily help coordinate transfers, reservations, etc. Myself, my husband and 3 kids all absolutely loved this place and highly recommend a visit...

If you are thinking about booking the “Belmonte Penthouse” think no more! This is hands-down the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in, period!

Our host, Danny goes above and beyond to meet your every need and surprise you with delights you didn’t know you even needed! Like complimentary breakfast, daily maid service, 24/7 concierge, a well stocked bar, fluffy towels & pillows, hotel slippers, basically everything you could think of has been meticulously thought of by Danny our host.

The apartment itself is well designed, modern & luxurious. The beds are the most comfortable beds with high quality luxurious bed sheets. From the outdoor shower to the jacuzzi, to the sonos to the bar, you won’t ever feel bored in this penthouse.

The central location makes it perfect for accessing the best spots & restaurants in town by foot. The place was just absolutely amazing, the pictures do not do it justice!

Our group had a memorable time here and cannot wait to come back!
