Really nice location, 5 minute walk from popular square with bars and restaurants. Metro station was a little bit far, 20 minutes walking. The hostel had a good provision of information about Medellin.||||At our arrival, the staff explained all hundreds of rules, nothing was allowed to do: no drinks in the room, no noise, no talking in the hallways etc. etc. When we came home at midnight, the staff came immediately to whine about the noise. So don't go here if you are with a group of friends who want to have a nice (party) time in Medellin. The staff was bossy and not really friendly (unlike the other Colombians we have met so far). They controlled us and treated us like children. The kitchen was nice, however, we couldn't use it between 22:00 and 08:00, not even to get a glass of water or to take your food from the fridge.||||Our 10-persons dorm room was comfortable. However, it only had 1 shower and we were not allowed to use other public bathrooms. We did it once, but the staff came immediately to rebuke us. Besides, the room had no door, so it was open for everyone. This means that our nights were disturbed by random people standing in our room or making noise in the hallway. There was no WIFI in the rooms, only really bad WIFI besides...

She basically had a go at us about slamming doors before we had even laid our hands on one. It was obviously a massive chore for her to even book us in. ||She begrudgingly showed us to a room with two single beds, a double, and a shared bathroom. It was dingy with no proper window and an odd bathroom arrangement whereby the bathroom could be accessed by two separate doors so you had to be careful about locking both when you were in there, but then locking only the one to your room when done. ||The main issue for me was the clanking noise that persisted outside the room all night. Having spent 12 hours on a coach from Bogota I would have thought I could sleep standing up that night, but this sound kept me awake. The experience was so miserable that we checked out the next morning and went somewhere else. ||As far as hostels go, this is one of the worst I've stayed in and I wouldn't go back. ||The room was pretty dingy and ugly with no frills whatsoever. More than a hint of the prison cell here. The double bed was comfortable but the shower was very...
