From the moment I discovered BOP, I knew it was the place for me. This was proven many times over during my 8 night stay. Even before our arrival, the staff had worked with me to tweak our reservation, upgrading us to a suite for the second half of our stay. Their communication during this time, booking shuttles and just general inquiries was excellent. ||||We arrived late at night and were greeted by Daniel, a wonderful asset to this property. He, along with the rest of the staff felt like friends in no time at all. Monica, Yazmin, Jose, Pedro and the rest of the team were some of the most pleasant people I’ve encountered while travelling. Many thanks to them all!||||Our room was as described, small but spotless with everything we needed. I found the bed to be very comfortable and came prepared with an eye mask for early morning sun. Breakfast for me was fine. Coffee, juice, fruit, snack cake and granola bars..however for those travelling with children I can understand why this would be a bit underwhelming. ||||The pool was spectacular, always super clean and never crowded. Do bring your own beach towels though. Getting a lounger or seat anywhere was never a problem whether you prefer sun or shade. Very comfortable environment to enjoy the pura vida. Beautiful local artwork surrounds the courtyard, and the gardens complete the secret oasis feel. Also, twinkle lights at night and subtle music playing made this area a huge high point of my stay. ||||We did move to a larger room which was awesome too. Very comfortable beds, very clean and really neat, authentic woodwork and art. Hot water is solar which I appreciate, and we never had an issue. The air conditioning was almost too good, as I had mine turned off most of the time. For people who like it…you will love it. ||||The hotel gates get locked at night, so we felt very safe coming and going. The desk staff were great to check on what plans we had, and would give their honest advise as to whether or not that was a good idea ( I’m looking at you Daniel, thank you 🙏)||They were all very genuinely invested in our happiness and safety. ||||This brings me to Paula, Tina, and Chuck. Amazing people that are working so hard to make this place PARADISE. They have hired great people that do great work and it shows. I could feel their passion for the hotel in our conversations and in the work being done to constantly improve. I’m just very thankful I got to experience this place and all the great people here in Jaco. I cannot wait to...
Read moreThis hotel, in comparison to other appealing options available during our trip, came across as relatively expensive. Therefore we had assumed that they would provide hot showers. However our experience was quite disappointing. The initial shower started off warm for the first 60 seconds, only to turn cold for the rest of our stay. Despite my attempts to adjust the shower handle, I couldn't get it to work properly.
The hotel policies appeared to be overly cautious and somewhat defensive. For instance, at check-in they require guests to sign a waiver stating that losing the key would result in a $200 charge. The key itself is just a simple metal copy, which seemed a bit excessive. Additionally, we noticed a clause in their policies stating that they could change the rules and regulations at any time without notice, which felt hostile.
Their 'continental' breakfast offerings was quite slim - it appeared to be coffee, juice, wrapped granola bars and apples.
On a positive note, our room with a double bed, though somewhat compact, was comfortable, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. It provided a convenient location for exploring the Calle...
Read moreWow! This hotel is beautiful! This is one of the best hotels in Jaco. During my stay I was lucky enough to meet the owners. This hotel has been fully remodeled recently and they explained how every mural, every piece of furniture/painting/ was built and created by Ticos. I came with a friend and we were treated like VIP. The staff was friendly and helpful, they referred us to amazing tours - fishing and ATV. We also used the hotel's bikes to explore the area. The breakfast provided with the room is delicious! The beds were comfortable, AC cold, and the shower pressure was therapeutic. This hotel has everything: hairdryer, iron, pool, bar, coffee maker, game area, laundry, FREE and gated parking. They had a pilates class but I overslept (Pura Vida 🤙🏼). They are located across from a park that had live music when we there, a pharmacy and a grocery store (grocery store has an ATM fyi) and a movie theater. This hotel is within safe walking distance to everything you could need. This was my favorite trip to Costa Rica and I look forward to returning, I'm definitely staying at this hotel again ❤️. Oh yeah - their coffee was...
