A Slice of Paradise with a Side of Latte! If you're looking for the kind of getaway where your biggest decision is whether to sip your cappuccino before or after your morning beach stroll, Hotel Lia is your dream come true. From the moment I arrived, the vibe was all about effortless luxury and barefoot relaxation. Nestled right on the edge of the shoreline, this beachfront gem greets you with the soothing sound of waves and the best sunsets I've ever seen. The lobby? Coastal chic meets boutique charm—think driftwood decor, breezy whites, and pops of color that set the tone for a stay full of ocean-inspired indulgence. The Rooms: My room was a slice of serenity with a front-row seat to the sea. Sliding glass doors opened to a private balcony, perfect for sunrise selfies or winding down with a glass of wine at sunset. Inside, the king-sized bed was cloud-like, the linens crisp and cool, and (YES!) they offer plush robes and fluffy slippers that practically whispered, “Cancel all your plans and stay in.” Dining: The on-site restaurant, tapas style is a coastal culinary adventure. Fresh seafood, vibrant local ingredients, and a killer view of the beach made dinner an experience, not just a meal.
And don’t even get me started on Mama's Cafe. This coffee shop is a morning game-changer. From velvety flat whites to mocha's with the cutest little designs in the milk, it’s the kind of place you find excuses to visit twice a day. Bonus: the coffee is the strongest yet delicate flavor! Final Thoughts:** Whether you're a sun-chaser, a foodie, or just in desperate need of a stylish escape where someone else makes your bed and your latte, Hotel Lia ticks every box. It's not just a hotel—it's a mood. Pack your sunnies, prep your Instagram, and prepare to fall in love with the beach life...
Read moreOverall positive experience but all the small things add up with a lot to be desired
Room: small, no clothes iron, no tvs, nightstands are tiny logs making there no place to put anything, shower doesnt have a shelf, no towel hook at sink, A/C worked great, bed sheets were absolutely terrible not soft at all, more like sleeping with parchment paper
Pool: very nice, heated and mostly clean
Pool Bar: not used! I'm accustomed to being served food/cocktails at the pool and this was not that experience. You can get a drink there if you flag somebody down to get a server to come back there but otherwise the pool is an unserved area
Restaurant/Bar: Food was ok, food is better off premises. Specialty cocktails were fantastic. Don't expect service. What I mean is you have to ask to be served. There was only 1 of the the 5-6 servers who actually stops by to ask if you need anything. Even sitting at the bar the bartenders dont check on you. Coffee is great.
No place to charge a phone outside your room. No outlets in any of the outdoor spaces and sitting areas.
It wasn't terrible but I would not go back. I have to assume all the 5 star reviews on Google are friends of the owner, people just being nice, or people who have lower expectations than I do and mine are pretty low. I just expect clean rooms, functional rooms, and service. I feel bad even writing this review because the staff was so...
Read moreSuper nice hotel. Everything is new and well maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The owner (Nick?) have always an open ear and good recommendations.
The food is decent. Little on the expensive side but worth it. Really good coffee and even better pastries. You won't find really good restaurants in Jaco. Everything is pizza, burger and steak. The local restaurant are recommended, tasty and friendly people. In the same street of the hotel is a German bakery and a Thai restaurant. The Thai food is by far the best in town. The bakery offers everything what you expect from a German bakery. Excellent. As vegetarians, we ate there 6 times in our 10 days in Jaco. No other restaurant was as professional and tasty.
The rooms are missing small things But the manager told us that they are ready by high season. All together totally recommend. Unfortunately the beach is a little dirty but this is not in the hands of the hotel.
The only thing what we didn't like was that breakfast was not included in the price.
Thanks for a nice and...
